Is there a QB Battle Brewing in Kansas City?
1-liner, NFL August 20th. 2009, 5:00pmKansas City Chiefs: This is either the most surprising development of any training camp in the league, or simply a motivational tool being employed by new Chiefs coach Todd Haley: “Remember that stuff about Brodie Croyle firmly being the Chiefs’ No. 2 QB? Well, now I’m starting to believe he’s threatening Cassel’s job.” That was Tuesday afternoon. Wednesday, Haley addressed the situation. Obviously you don’t ink a guy to a $63 million deal ($28 mil guaranteed) and then bench him, but it is worth noting that most QBs could have thrived last season in New England throwing to Randy Moss, Wes Welker, and playing for Bill Belichick. So it’s safe to assume you think Brady is overrated, TBL?
/minus the hats and smile, of course

If this is what Kansas City is going to do with it’s professional sports I’m not sure it should be allowed to have any.

When did Kansas City get professional sports?…

The (ish) at the end of professional is understood.

Exactly. Only way you can do that is if the back-up (Croyle) has overwhelming fan support and can pressure the organization. Croyle, however, has no such fan support.

I remember wondering why people were sold on Cassel. He had a nasty offense last year and he had been in the system for 3-4 years. I think he will be an average, good-but-never-great QB.

So Cassels peak is what then Eli Manning?
August 20th, 2009 at 5:45 pm
Sure, but he won’t ever come close to winning a Super Bowl.

Dear Mr. Big Lead,
I agree. That scenario would be just plain silly. Also , please send me contact information for Mr. Cassel’s agent. Mine only got me $24m with $14.5m guaranteed.
Sincerely,
Derek Anderson
