Milton Bradley Gives Good Quote
1-liner, Baseball, Race August 26th. 2009, 12:15pmChicago Cubs: “We got a Rodney King beat down tonight,” is how Milton Bradley put it. An embarrassing loss to the Nationals (also known as the worst team in baseball) at Wrigley dropped the Cubs to 62-61 – a season after 97 wins! – and nine games back of NL Central-leading St. Louis. Be as optimistic as you’d like – they have a 0.0 percent chance of winning the NL Central, and we’re ready to put a fork in the Cubs chances of making the postseason. If you want to hold out hope that maybe they can make up the 8.5 games in the Wild Card standings, fine – but just know that overtaking four teams in less than 40 games will be nearly impossible. From here on out, Milton Bradley’s pre and post-game quotes are the only reason you need to pay attention to the Cubbies. [ESPN Chicago]

I grew up liking the Cubs with their half full stadium, Harry Carey, no lights and beer Garden atmosphere. Once they started winning they sold their soul and raised tickets about 400%. They desrve this. As much I hate to side with Tampa Bo, the Sox are a much more interested team… and the fans are 10 times cooler.

Would it be an appropriate quote if it came from Ryan Theriot?

Yes, I’m a hater. The thought of Cubs fans still rooting for a WC with so little games left makes my heart happy.
Is Sweet Lou’s job safe when Hendry gets axed in October?

you can make a strong argument that the cubs are the team that leaves the worst taste in the fans’ mouths. big payroll on long-term ontracts that have to be eaten to be moved for guys who cry and try half as hard as they could and don’t make any suggested changes to their game/fitness. ick, ptoooey

The good news is that Crane Kenney is staying on because he’s sucked so much Ricketts dick, wouldn’t surprise me if fat Jim sticks around too.
