Matt Cassel: Even though the Chiefs aren’t talking, Yahoo’s Jason Cole is reporting that Kansas City’s new QB will miss 2-4 weeks with a “strained medial collateral ligament in his right knee.” This means that Tyler Thigpen could be called upon to start the season opener in Baltimore against one of the league’s top defenses. Who will his offensive coordinator be? Who knows! The Chiefs just demoted/fired Chan Gailey. Thigpen played in seven road games last year; KC won one of those (Oakland). Brodie Croyle was thought to be pushing Cassel just two weeks ago; at some point, Thigpen must have passed him. [KC Star]
