Kansas Basketball: Best Offseason Ever
Campus Crime, College Basketball October 7th. 2009, 5:35pm
It started with such promise! Cole Adrich and Sherron Collins stuck around! Universally, the Jayhawks were tabbed the No. 1 team for the 2009-2010 season. And then the players started goofing off. Their actions in the last month are begging for national coverage leading up to Midnight Madness.
1. Collins drew the ire of Bill Self for being overweight, again.
2. Tyshawn Taylor, a sophomore guard, threw a punch at a football player and messed up his thumb. According to police, the hoops squad twice fought with football players twice in a 12-hour span.
3. Brady Morningstar, a junior, got a DWI and was suspended from the hoops’ team for the first semester.
4. Markieff Morris, a sophomore, got in a car accident, and that actually wasn’t the news that raised eyebrows. The car he was driving was registered to former Jayhawk Scot Pollard. “Everything is legal. It is not a compliance issue,” KU Associate Athletics Director for External Relations Jim Marchiony said. According to Marchiony, the car belonged to Taylor, who had bough it from Pollard.
Still the overwhelming favorites to win the National title.

Why would you go play for a snake who is a shitty coach when you can play for one who is a good coach
October 7th, 2009 at 5:44 pm
Don’t forget the will he/won’t he mess with Xavier Henry. Apparently, his mother decided which college he’d be attending.

self isnt exactly a x’s and o’s genius
October 7th, 2009 at 5:44 pm
you’re trying to bait me, and it’s not going to work. I blew off all my steam earlier abut the jets and Calipari, so now I’m just gonna sit back, relax and watch the Yankees beat the shit out of the twins.

very true. We got John Wall out of it anyway, Bledsoe too. So I think UK came out alright.
October 7th, 2009 at 5:47 pm
And Cousins. What’s the basis of Self being great and Calipari sucking? Not fouling Sherron Collins? If so, that’s damn fine line.
October 7th, 2009 at 5:47 pm
Good story on Inge right now.
October 7th, 2009 at 5:49 pm
Cousins was after Henry? I was just talking about after Henry’s parents decided where he was going to play.
Hood will be good if he can put on some weight.
October 7th, 2009 at 5:49 pm
Ah, gotcha. Hell, even if Hood can’t gain weight, he can just channel Tayshaun.

So be it, but point taken.
Just wait until the Tyrel Reed steroids story comes out. Shit will hit the fan.

True. At the very least he’ll be like Perry Stevenson was originally, although he’s stronger than Perry was as a freshman and sophomore.
October 7th, 2009 at 5:53 pm
At least Fetch admits Self is a snake.
October 7th, 2009 at 5:54 pm
Oh, and lets not forget Orton. Him, Cousins, Double P and Stevenson? Stop.
October 7th, 2009 at 6:05 pm
Is that the best frontline in CBB?
Discuss.

“And Cousins. What’s the basis of Self being great and Calipari sucking? Not fouling Sherron Collins? If so, that’s damn fine line.”
Well, there was no one to foul Collins, because all the players are vacated.

I’m confused, TBL. Are you posting this because you think Morris was in violation? Because he obviously wasn’t. I’ve heard from people that listened to the radio show that interviewed Scott Pollard today, that Pollard was awesome and made Keitzman (the radio show host) look like such a fool that Keitzman apologized to Pollard after the commercial. Maybe you should interview Pollard.

So did they fight 4 times, or are you guys above editing your work?
