Rumeal Robinson’s Stripper Addiction Leads To Financial Ruin
Former Athletes, Retirees October 10th. 2009, 2:00pm
This is a crazy story about Rumeal Robinson’s financial ruin which was brought on by - among other things - an addiction to strip clubs. According to his adopted brother:
“He would go on binges of two whole weeks where he spent $20,000 a night at a strip club,” Barrows says. “Not only that, but he’d also have a bunch of the strippers come back to his place, get buck-naked, and clean his house for $500 or $1,000 each.”
Now, that’s maid service.
Robinson was drafted 10th overall by Atlanta out of Michigan and made more than 5 million in his career. His rookie contract was for 4 years and just over 4 million. (This year’s 10th pick, Brandon Jennings signed a 2 year deal worth 4.5 million dollars.)
I have to say, this is all so much less impressive when you hear about Amy Winehouse drinking and snorting away $14 million in 7 months. Why is it that people with money are so effing stupid?
Here’s what he was able to accomplish with that money.
Federal prosecutors have charged Robinson with fraud, and at least four creditors have sued him for unpaid bills in Miami-Dade County, where he lives. He’s had to give up Ducati motorcycles, a Maserati, and a $10,000 fully automatic M16 machine gun
I don’t know what I would do if The Man took away my M16. You really have to read the entire article. It’s inspiring.

I remember hating that Michigan team, even though I can only now remember two of the guys who were on it. And one of them is this broke jackass.

Don’t let me ever come into any money. I’ll be making it rain. Every single night. Dollar. Dollar. Bills ya’ll.
October 10th, 2009 at 2:18 pm
Not an accurate statement. The people who took their money aren’t stupid.
/but they resent paying taxes

The middle of the SEC is so schizophrenic.
Tennessee is looking good against Georgia.
Tennessee looked bad against Auburn.
Auburn looks awful against Arkansas.
Georgia beat Arkansas and South Carolina.
South Carolina beat Ole Miss.
You figure it out.

Living “that life” doesn’t come cheap.

Flordia and LSU are the best two teams. That’s all we need to know.

It just amuses me when filthy rich people complain that “the government is just going to waste their money,” as they spend it on strippers, Bentleys, mansions, and yachts that they don’t even use. Or giving it freely to jackoffs like Madoff and Stanford.
Yeah, it’s the government that needs to be stopped.

I tell ya what. I don’t want to make this too political, but the Republican party is really smart sometimes. They get poor as dirt people to make arguments that they have no business making (i.e. the whole take from the rich give to the poor argument). Of course, they’re probably not the brightest bulb in the box so that would explain it.
October 10th, 2009 at 2:39 pm
and the democrats are dumb because they think they know what is in the best interest for poor people even though most dems(and republicans for that matter)have never struggled for anything. they volunteered in a poor neighborhood for 2 years so they are experts to the cause of poor people.
October 10th, 2009 at 2:43 pm
Fetch, have you ever had a job that paid more than — oh, I don’t know — $30k per year?
Just wonderin’.
October 10th, 2009 at 2:43 pm
and even if i was dirt poor i wouldnt want some other person to be forced to give me some of his money because i have a backbone and want to earn my own money. but yeah poor people no business making that argument.
October 10th, 2009 at 2:44 pm
Where the fuck did that republican jab come from?
October 10th, 2009 at 2:45 pm
it came from fetch having no clue how the real world works.

Am I the only one here for increasing taxes? I know it’s up to Congress to actually spend the money wisely, but we’re getting into more and more shit.
October 10th, 2009 at 2:47 pm

October 10th, 2009 at 2:47 pm

I’m sure you’re taking a side in FLA/LSU.

Oh and CRM, nice post about the baseball scheduling. This comment on it made me laugh for some reason. Poor, insecure baseball fans …
October 10th, 2009 at 2:54 pm
No, but we could talk NHL and soccer.
Or this.
Yes, the guy who can’t win in NASCAR wants the woman who can’t win in IndyCar to come and not win in NASCAR with him.

“Big Night” with Tony Shaloub and Stanley Tucci. Good flick.
October 10th, 2009 at 2:57 pm
Danica Patrick is not that attractive. There. I said it.
Also, the original “Go Daddy” girl, who used to be in wrestling, has the face of an old catcher’s mitt now.

She’ll rake in the dough for him if she comes over. Say what you will about Junior, he and his sister definitely inherited their dad’s business sense.

11 random commenters could score on this Kansas team
October 10th, 2009 at 2:58 pm
And I’ve said she should be banned from all sports talk until she wins a race. A real race. Not a bogus race in Japan that like 2 real drivers participated in.
October 10th, 2009 at 2:58 pm
she was one of the worst “divas” of all time.

There goes Auburn.
October 10th, 2009 at 3:00 pm
Or this.
Jay: you subject us to hundreds of “I hate ESPN” posts, and then you link them? Why are you reading their site?
Are you into self-mutilation or something? -lol
Lane and Tennessee are taking Joejah to the woodshed
October 10th, 2009 at 3:01 pm
this is such an awesome story. i loved that 89 michigan team. glen rice was one of my favorite college players, ever.
actually, the big 10 rocked back in late 80s early 90s.
October 10th, 2009 at 3:02 pm
“even bought a $10,000 M16 machine gun at Miami Police Supply in Little Havana.”
lmao
October 10th, 2009 at 3:03 pm
God damn, Hartline is garbage. Fucking Morgan Newton, Fidler or Mossakowski wouldn’t be better than this? If only we didn’t need Cobb to be a receiver…
October 10th, 2009 at 3:03 pm
jpq, that has ZERO to do with ESPN. I could have linked from any mainstream sports site. I did not go to them to find it.

TBL there’s probably more AK-47’s in Miami than there are in Baghdad. It’s a warzone down there in some parts of the city

October 10th, 2009 at 3:06 pm
Miami’s a shithole. The non-gay area, that is. Fort Lauderdale is the best. Miami should just absorb Homestead so that entire area can morph into it’s own shitty Cuba2

Jay: it was just a joke on how you deride ESPN all the time, that’s all.

I really wanna bet Michigan +8 at Iowa. Someone talk me out of it.
October 10th, 2009 at 3:10 pm
I know. I have actually tried to tone it down and show that I have other things to say.
I was sensitive to it because I commented on it a few times on their incessant Jimmy Clausen for Heisman campaign. I couldn’t let that one go.

I heard it’s going to snow there, so if it does, Forcier won’t be able to see above the accumulation, and Robinson’s untied shoes won’t stay on. I’d go Iowa.
Help?

Kentucky has won what, 98 percent of their SEC games in Rupp Arena? Teams haven’t won there in my lifetime? But yeah, Arkansas, Tennessee and Georgia are tougher venues in the conferences.
/just for you, shatner
October 10th, 2009 at 3:27 pm
The answer would be “having shit.” Poor people would be better off if they “had shit.” They would really appreciate “the ability to continue to have shit” or “the capacity to earn shit for themselves” as well. This would in turn make them less likely to “kill me” and “take my shit.”
October 10th, 2009 at 3:33 pm
That is a bullshit list…the Dean Dome is NOT hard to play in…the team is always good, but it’s not a big home court advantage because of the octogenarians courtside.
I will say that Clemson is probably the toughest place to play in the ACC if the student body is actually into the game(yes, even tougher than Cameron). Rick Barnes certainly overcame some talent gaps by getting the place riled up. But the notion that the Dean Dome is the best homecourt advantage in college basketball when places like Cameron, Rupp, Allen, hell, even Gonzaga’s homecourt exist…just proves how stupid the average fan is.
October 10th, 2009 at 4:07 pm
Disappointing Jersey as an ND alum I would expect you would know better, but then again you are pretty fresh out of college before life has hit you hard enough perhaps.
October 10th, 2009 at 5:10 pm
Sorry Rumeal. Not any more
