Worst Job in the World
1-liner, College Football October 21st. 2009, 3:45pmWorst Job in the World: “Bowl Championship Series officials are considering hiring a permanent point person to be a full-time advocate for the often criticized postseason system … Defending the BCS certainly has been the primary function of the coordinator. And that coordinator’s role has grown in part because of all the attention — much of it negative — college football’s postseason system for determining a champion receives. Swofford twice this year has been called to testify before Congress to defend the BCS.” Might as well hire a lawyer – they are the only ones who can defend the indefensible. [AP]

Seriously, what did ESPN do to Deadspin all of a sudden that caused all this? I got the feeling over the past few months that they were starting to get chummy.

When she was at Pepsi, Lacey once was named one of SBJ’s 40 Under 40. That joke pretty much writes itself, no?

Except for all the added attention paid to college football these days increasing the sport’s popularity and revenue streams right? I’d say those positive outweigh the negatives of sportswriters complaining about the system
