randall-carroll-uclaLate last week UCLA freshman wide receiver Randall Carroll sent a tweet to a highly touted recruit that used a racial epithet when referring to his offensive coordinator, Norm Chow:

The post, from the account of OCiAM, dated Oct. 22, referred to the Bruins’ last three games before Saturday and read, “man oregon, stanford and cal should have been easy wins ,, but [expletive] thys [racial slur] norm chow dnt be trustin us ,, so it is what it is.” Carroll directed the tweet to the attention of La Cañada St. Francis High running back Dietrich Riley. It also could be seen by the public. “Coach Neuheisel said we need to watch what we say in twitters,” Carroll said.

Actually, the technical term is tweets. We were looking for tweets. Carroll went on to explain that he was simply frustrated and tired of losing, and didn’t mean any disrespect to Chow. His account is of course now deleted, which means we’ll be forced to wait for approximately 16 minutes for another athlete to tweet something something stupid.
