kobe-bryant-lebron-jamesOne of the biggest sports weeks of the year is underway.

Tuesday: NBA season begins!
Boston at Cleveland, 7:30 pm. Shaq makes his Cavs debut. Rasheed Wallace plays first game as a Celtic.
Clippers at Lakers, 10 pm. Defending champs open the season against crosstown rival that’ll be strong this year. Blake Griffin – poor guy.

Wednesday: World Series begins!
Phillies at Yankees, 8 pm. Lee vs. Sabathia.

Thursday:
Phillies at Yankees, 8 pm. Pedro vs. AJ Burnett. High scoring game, right? Pedro hasn’t pitched at Yankee Stadium since 2006. That was back when his fastball was still in the mid-90s. Now, it is in the low 80s. His last outing against the Yankees was a 9-0 loss in 2008.
North Carolina at Virginia Tech. Would have had more value if each team had won their last game.

alex-rodriguez-peter-gammonsFriday:
Bulls at Celtics, 8 pm. Rematch of epic 7-game playoff series from May.
Magic at Nets, 8 pm. Vince Carter goes back to the Swamp.

Saturday: Halloween!
Georgia vs. Florida, 3:30 pm. Cocktail party
Texas at Oklahoma State, 8 pm. If the Longhorns don’t slip-up here, might as well pencil them in the title game. Doesn’t look like Dez Bryant will play. Bad news for the Cowboys.
USC at Oregon 8 pm. Winner likely locks up the Pac-10 and remains a fringe contender for the BCS Championship game.

Sunday:
Dolphins at Jets, 1 pm. Loser can forget the playoffs.
Broncos at Ravens, 1 pm. No way the Broncos remain unbeaten.
Giants at Eagles, 1 pm. Giants looking at a 3-game losing streak?
Minnesota at Green Bay, 4 pm. Favre returns to Green Bay.
Yankees at Phillies, 8 pm. World Series, game three, Pettitte vs. Hamels.
