We have a buzzer-beater! And below, advertising fail. Of course it involves the Clippers, who lost their home opener.

Hornets 96, Spurs 113: Watched this game during the surprisingly long World Series commercials and the Spurs looked fantastic. Six players in double figures – including rookie DeJuan Blair who scored 14 and took 11 rebounds. It is difficult to not feel sorry for Chris Paul (26 points, nine assists), who is dynamic everytime he touches the ball, except that he doesn’t have a superstar wingman to help him out. The only person with moves to rival CP3 last night was this 10-year-old.

clippers-advertising-failKings 89, Thunder 102: Durant and Westbrook had double-doubles and the Thunder rolled. The Martin and Evans show, which will be the only act in Cowtown for the next few years, took 35 shots. Unfortunately, they only made 10. If the Kings aren’t going to play defense – OKC, one of the worst-shooting teams in the league last season, scored 68 in the first half – wins are going to be incredibly difficult to come by.

76ers 106, Magic 120: Even worse than the score indicates – Magic shot 55 percent, made 16 triples, and led by 29 after three quarters. Likely NBA MVP Dwight Howard: 21-15.

Jazz 105, Nuggets 114: Forget Carmelo’s 30 points, the nasty dunk below, the 25 from Billups, and the double-double from Kenyon Martin. How about the 17 points and six assists in 23 minutes by rookie Ty Lawson? Two nights into the season and Lawson’s neck-and-neck with Minnesota’s Jonny Flynn for rookie of the year honors. The 76ers are going to be very, very sorry they passed on the former UNC star.

Cleveland 91, Toronto 101: Well. Fire up the Lebron-is-’Nique insanity! Cleveland fell to 0-2 as the mighty frontcourt of Hedo-Bosh-Bargnani combined for 61 points. Of note: Shaq is 0-for-5 on FTs this season. We’re going to guess LeBron – who had a triple double – hangs half a hundred on Minnesota Friday. (And yes, if this keeps up and the Cavs struggle, no way LeBron returns. Knicks’ fans everywhere should be rooting against the Cavs.) Mike Brown’s a funny guy.
