LA Lakers 101, Oklahoma City 98, OT: Outstanding game that temporarily will put a muzzle on the clowns who have prematurely put Kevin Durant in LeBron’s class. KD, with Ron Artest in his jersey, shot an airball at the end of regulation, and then another one with :25 seconds left in OT. Durant scored 28 on 24 shots but missed all eight of his three’s. One day, he’ll be there, but certainly not yet. Kobe, who was defended well by Thabo Sefolosha all night, led everyone with 31.

Washington 90, Cleveland 102: Shaq finally played a good game with the Cavs - 21 points eight rebounds, making free throws - and LeBron added 27. Third most pressing question about the Cavs - why was Delonte West carrying 112 shotgun shells this summer when he got pulled over the cops this summer? At least he had a Remington on him - that’s top of the line. We also would have been impressed if it were a Mossberg. Wizards need more Nick Young.

Phoenix 104, Miami 96: We go with the Suns here over Dirk’s ridiculous 4th quarter (29 of his 44 points in a terrific comeback) and the latest from Greg Oden (8 points, 9 rebounds in 15 foul-plagued minutes) because we mocked Phoenix in the preseason and now they’re unbeaten. Phoenix bewildered Miami in the 4th quarter last night with a zone defense and Steve Nash led all scorers with 30.

Boston 105, Philadelphia 74: Ridiculously dominant first week for the Celtics. Margins of victory in 5-0 start: 6, 33, 28, 10, 31. Boston was 14-for-20 from three; Philly, which couldn’t shoot from three last year, was 1-for-16. cleveland-cavaliers-fans-hate-deshawn-stevenson

Milwaukee 81, Chicago 83: The Bucks choked away a big early lead and lost a game that pitted two of the league’s best point guards under the age of 22 - rookie Young Money and reigning ROY Derrick Rose. Luol Deng scored 24 points and took 20 rebounds for the Bulls; Rose added 16. John Salmons had another hideous night, and is shooting a laughable 25 percent from the field, 18 percent from three and averaging just 10 ppg. Brandon Jennings, aka Young Money, continues to be one of the leagues’s awesome early-season stories. He led the Bucks with 25 points, and if he can keep this up, don’t be surprised to see more than a few high schoolers who don’t qualify for college make the move to Europe.
