Ballin’: Kobe, Artest, Topple Ariza and Houston
NBA, Video November 5th. 2009, 11:30amLA Lakers 103, Houston 102, OT: In 34 minutes, Derek Fisher scored 0 points, had 0 assists and 0 rebounds. But in the final seconds of OT, Fisher stripped Trevor Ariza as he drove for a potential game-winning shot and the Lakers prevailed. Kobe was outstanding with 41 points. Andrew Bynum (17 points, 17 rebounds) suffered an elbow injury late. In the Ariza-Artest matchup, they both got T’d up, and each hit a crucial three pointer in the final 30 seconds to send the game to OT. Ariza pressed for most of the night (5-for-21).
Phoenix 100, Orlando 122: With no Leandro Barbosa and J-Rich playing just 20 foul-plagued minutes and shooting 0-for-4, the Suns fell from the ranks of the unbeaten. The Magic, playing without Vince Carter (ankle) and still-suspended Rashard Lewis, had six guys score in double figures, led by newbie Ryan Anderson’s 20-10.
Dallas 107, New Orleans 114: Just one of those nights – Dirk and J Kidd (pictured with model girlfriend Hope Dworaczyk) combined to shoot 7-for-27, but Jason Terry pumped in 35 off the bench. CP3 scored 39, and even though Peja only made one basket, it was a clutch one with six seconds left in regulation to force OT.
Memphis 105, Golden State 113: Allen Iverson got his way and played heavy minutes – 27, in which he scored 18 points – but who cares, if the Grizz lost? (Thabeet watch: Three minutes, two turnovers. He has 10 fouls and two points in five games.) The Warriors notched their first win of the season on the strength of nine Steph Curry assists, and 44 points off the bench from Anthony Morrow and Corey Maggette.
Indiana 101, New York 89: The Knicks suffered an epic fourth-quarter meltdown – no points for nine minutes – and the Pacers rallied for their first win of the season. Larry Bird can breathe easy, and Danny Granger won’t have to answer questions about ducking the media. For a night, anyway. TJ Ford (16 points) took over late and 2nd year center Roy Hibbert from Georgetown had his second double-double in a row. David Lee scored 20 and collected 19 rebounds for the losers, who watched as rookie Jordan Hill registered his fourth straight DNP-coach’s decision.

led by newbie Ryan Anderson’s 20-10
I was impressed with the way he bounced back from having a bad game the night before. Kid can make it rain from outside. Matt Barnes had another great game. Dwight received his 3rd technical foul last night.
cant wait for everybody to return and see this team at full strength

Orlando is scary.

the wizards blew cock, from start to finish, last night. the heat opened a 24-6 lead before the wiz fought back, only to have gil pass up an open three (that would have tied the game) with 6 secs left to throw the ball off haywoods brick hands.

That’s a nice steal/win for the Lakers. Artest/Fisher/Odom not playing that well. Kobe with the flu, tail end of a back-to-back, and winning in overtime the night after an overtime game.
And Kobe has 16 steals in 5 games. Wow.
November 5th, 2009 at 11:41 am
By the way, Andray Blatche is truly Lamar Odom 2.0. Their games are eerily familiar…and both are erratic, with potential for great games.
November 5th, 2009 at 11:45 am
bynum has been unreal. lakers have 2 of the 3 best centers in the nba. should be an easy title defense. maybe boston if they stay healthy.
November 5th, 2009 at 11:45 am
Finally the Hornets wake up and have a good game.
November 5th, 2009 at 11:46 am
Fisher doesn’t need to show up till May/June…. Bynum’s elbow has me a little worried… Can this guy just stay healthy once!?!

Hawks win 2 of 3 on west coast road trip. Jamal Crawford is playing like Manu off the bench. I doubt he will keep it up all year, but right now he’s playing like the best sixth man in the league.
November 5th, 2009 at 11:48 am
Orlando is extremely scary.
November 5th, 2009 at 11:49 am
I havent seen it yet. So not yet.
November 5th, 2009 at 11:49 am
except when playing the pistons.

Wow D’Antoni needs to be fired.

Another game, another Nuggets victory. Powered by Lawson.
November 5th, 2009 at 11:56 am
If he had in TBL would call him a thug.
November 5th, 2009 at 11:56 am
What is his role? They have Billups running the point. Do they trade Billups for a SG?
November 5th, 2009 at 11:57 am
Orlando looks real good right now. I didn’t now they picked up Matt Barnes. He’s pretty good, Orlando may have the best bench in the league.
Lakers look good not great, Odom and Fisher are playing like crap. The bench looks weak except for Shannon Brown.
November 5th, 2009 at 11:58 am
No. They just groom him and give Chauncey more of a rest. Should help later in the season. Once J.R. Smith gets back they’ll have that SG spark.

If he had in TBL would call him a thug
What?
November 5th, 2009 at 12:01 pm
I can’t get used to TBL being nice to Kobe.
South Park was fantastic.
November 5th, 2009 at 12:06 pm
That picture of Malone just changed the game.
November 5th, 2009 at 12:07 pm
OMG. Re: the lady wearing the Jeter jersey in my office. Someone “jokingly” asked her to take it off. She does, revealing an ARod jersey underneath. VOMIT.
November 5th, 2009 at 12:08 pm
That picture of Malone just changed the game.
little known trivia fact: started his NBA career with the Buffalo Braves (all of two games before they traded him)

Dallas shit the bed to give that game away. Up 3 with 10 seconds left, and 3 free throws coming, one by Terry who’s 88%, and two by Barea, who’s good too. Missed ‘em all, Peja ties it, and OT is a blowout, because Dirk had fouled out.
Shitty, shitty ending.
November 5th, 2009 at 12:10 pm
Kobe’s literally carrying that team right now. Odom hasn’t played that great, Fisher has been non existent. Artest has on and off games. I do like Bynum’s development though. Having Pau would tremendously help.
In other news, watch out for Andrea Bargnani this year. MIP award?
And yeah, what’s with TBL praising Kobe now? Feels wierd.
November 5th, 2009 at 12:11 pm
talk about coming prepared. is she wearing a hideki matsui wig?

This is actually just fantastic, and I think you’ve lost all right to mock her.
November 5th, 2009 at 12:12 pm
I didn’t watch to see the T. Did he drop his pants down or stalk someone?
November 5th, 2009 at 12:12 pm
and a A-Rod Buttplug?….
November 5th, 2009 at 12:13 pm
Does anyone follow the Hornets? If so, what’s up with Bobby Brown getting the green light to shoot? Are they trying to make him the next Pargo?
November 5th, 2009 at 12:14 pm
Nice Bobby Brown highlight from last night – steal and tough layup
November 5th, 2009 at 12:19 pm
If she has a tuxedo tshirt underneath that, she has won Mike Seaver’s heart.
November 5th, 2009 at 12:37 pm
Another great game from Ty Lawson last night. 76ers have to be kicking themselves for taking Holliday. That guy will never be a quality starter in this league
November 5th, 2009 at 12:55 pm
Bobby Brown sucks. That guy is a chucker
I didn’t watch to see the T. Did he drop his pants down or stalk someone?
of course you didnt watch. You just come in here and drop stupid comments. nothing new
November 5th, 2009 at 2:52 pm
Well, lucky for me that whole World Series thing is over and I can now focus my tv watching on meaningless NBA games with crybaby pornstar stalkers.
/my comments will always be stupid. It’s what I do.
November 5th, 2009 at 2:52 pm
crybaby? who?
November 5th, 2009 at 2:56 pm
don’t even bother taking the bait Irish. He not only doesn’t know what he’s talking about, he knows he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
my comments will always be stupid. It’s what I do.

That made me laugh, even though I know for a fact it’s not true.
November 5th, 2009 at 3:22 pm
Your boy, Superman.
So logically, that means I do know what I’m talking about. That’s cute how you stuck up for Irish, though.
And I’m pretty sure standing outside another dude’s house uninvited to “talk” to a woman is stalker territory.
