Glad to see that the first “THIS GUY HAS A CONNECTION TO OBAMA!” e-mails are aready reaching my inbox.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:15 am
I wonder if that Michael Oher biopic will discuss how the family that took him in while he was in high school were Ole Miss boosters, and he somehow, miraculously ended up at Ole Miss, with his high school coach in tow.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:15 am
By the way, it looks like we’re dodging most of the bullet from that hurricane over here.
Good luck to the people in Mobile, its likely target
November 9th, 2009 at 8:17 am
Tim Pawlenty is the governor of Minnesota, not from Iowa.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:19 am
Was Oher a Coach O recruit or a Cutcliffe recruit?
My money’s on Coach O, but I don’t think the timeline’s right.

they work for the same company?
November 9th, 2009 at 8:23 am
I really dont want to see Sandra Bullock wrestle with an accent in that movie. Also, some of the things in the longer trailer never happened. I dont like seeing the Dramatic License take over in the preview, let alone in the movie.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:23 am
I slept thorough the second half, so I need to know why people are dropping a load over the Cowboys this morning. “The Cowboys Are Back!” Yeah, Tony Romo looks unstoppable in late October/early November, the sky is blue, blah, blah, blah.
How many times are you going to be sucked in?
November 9th, 2009 at 8:23 am
they work for the same company?
turns out Obama’s his boss. That’s sketchy.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:25 am
Both, Cut was fired during the recruitment (which is why Fulmer thought he was getting Oher, because Saban left and Cut was fired).
She should have a better one considering she went to ECU…
November 9th, 2009 at 8:26 am
jay, hurricanes suck. actually got one when i live in GA. Mild, of course, but i can only imagine what a big one could do.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:26 am
So, I’m guessing that means TBL hasn’t read the book?
November 9th, 2009 at 8:26 am
She’s hot. More hot than I thought. Hotter?
November 9th, 2009 at 8:27 am
I slept thorough the second half, so I need to know why people are dropping a load over the Cowboys this morning.
Good corner play, which was unexpected (not Newman, the other two). Philly kind of laid an egg in the second half, between no Westbrook, and Andy Reid sharting away three timeouts, two by losing bad challenges.
Also, the Eagles went from a 2nd and less than 1 with momentum at the 50 to turning to ball over on downs, on three straight runs.
Tony Homo only threw one pick on a bad ball, which for him is really good. And Roy Williams got thrown to a lot, so he’ll shut up.
Plus, they ran the clock out, like you’d expect from a team with Marion Barber.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:28 am
Because Andy Reid’s arch enemy clock management got together with stupid challenge to leave the Eagles no time for a comeback. Oh, and Donovan choking and puking in the 4th too.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:28 am
She’s from virginia and moved to NY then attended ECU. I’m from NY and attended UK. I dont have a southern accent. Although she’s an actress so she’d be better at it than me.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:29 am
snl link gone?
November 9th, 2009 at 8:30 am
have not read the book, Sanders.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:30 am
It must be terrible to have Andy Reid coach your favorite team. Way to kick that useless field goal last night. But hey, he’s never lost in the first round!
November 9th, 2009 at 8:31 am
The schedule is definitely set up for Dallas to lose 5 straight to end the season, if they decide to do it again. @NY, SD, @NO, @Wash, Philly.
Their D is playing halfway decent. They got some momentum against some crappy teams, and now have beaten two good ones in a row.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:31 am
fuck the giants
November 9th, 2009 at 8:32 am
The trailer makes the family appear completely saintly, whereas the book walked a fine line between saintly and skeezy.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:33 am
The book was good, I enjoyed it. However, the movie added a whole bunch of confrontations that never happened. Also, I was wondering id they would add the usual “black guy dances with white family” scene.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:33 am
So I guess the Saints/Cowboys game in December will be hyped as the “NFC Championship Preview”. I can handle that.
/mmmmm, Tony Romo in December
November 9th, 2009 at 8:34 am
Exactly. Well said.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:35 am
fuck the giants
That banged up secondary is just swiss cheese. Good luck with getting Chris Canty to play hard with stuffed pockets.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:36 am
The trailer makes the family appear completely saintly, whereas the book walked a fine line between saintly and skeezy.
i’ve heard this (haven’t read the book). but is it really the worst thing in the world? at least they provided the kid with an actual homelife for the first time in his life. making him go to ole miss is a small price to pay
November 9th, 2009 at 8:37 am
snl link gone?
you missed nothing. Here’s a summary – she looks 12.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:40 am

You’ll have a Superbowl preview coming up before that. I’d be wary of New England.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:40 am
Well the book tried it make it look the family was as hands off as they could reasonably be while being Ole Miss homers and boosters. Meanwhile the wife bashed the other coaches that stopped by, especially Fulmer. (Although she did say she thought Saban was attractive)
November 9th, 2009 at 8:41 am
It’s Pats-Colts week!!!
November 9th, 2009 at 8:42 am
It’s Pats-Colts week!!!
i wasn’t aware. you’d think NBC would have mentioned it.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:43 am
just replaced the Taylor Swift video. should work.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:45 am
eh…fuck the giants.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:45 am
Didn’t both of them try to steer him hard to LSU when they thought he was going to pick Fulmer? The only coach she trashed in my recollection was Fulmer, and it was more a “Anybody but Fulmer.”
November 9th, 2009 at 8:47 am
TBL, any youtube link of new SNL’s will be pulled down eventually…embed the hulu clip.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:47 am
Colts should have lost yesterday dammit. I’m not sure I can define clutch, but I can define not clutch, his name is Matt Schaub.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:47 am
Hmm, you might be right tallguy. And if you are, I will gladly punch myself in the face. All I remember distinctly was the Fulmer hate and saying Saban was attractive.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:48 am
Its early, so if I fuck up badly, I apologize ha. I’m never up at this time.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:48 am
Colts should have lost yesterday dammit.
that’s four times now.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:50 am
It’s the NFL, and last-second FG’s go that way sometimes. They went against the Colts against the Titans and Texans in ‘06, against them against the Chargers in ‘07, against them against the Jags in ‘08, for them against the Chargers in ‘08, etc.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:52 am
Fuck the Bears. Worst team in football right now.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:52 am
Don’t worry fellas, a loss is coming. This ship’s got too many injuries and holes to keep plugging just enough each week. I wouldn’t be shocked to see them get that first L this Sunday.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:58 am
Chris Douglas-Roberts of the Nets has swine flu.
Still can’t hit free throws!
November 9th, 2009 at 8:59 am
We Are.
Penn StateNot Good.November 9th, 2009 at 8:59 am
bsanders: are you just looking for the reverse jinx or do you have some concerns about the secondary? i haven’t seen the colts play a snap this season yet, curious how they look now.
November 9th, 2009 at 8:59 am
Yeah, the kid literally had no home, and no future. The only reason he’s in the NFL today is because of that family. Nick Saban maintains that if he had stayed at LSU, he would have landed Oher, and would still be coaching there, with multiple national titles in tow.
November 9th, 2009 at 9:01 am
bsanders37: I am usually so wrong on here. But give me props for calling it on your namesake not making it through the season. At what point do you get tired of not having one of your best defensive players on the field.
November 9th, 2009 at 9:02 am
Props on the win Spence. I bow down to your superiority in every single way this week.
November 9th, 2009 at 9:02 am
i find it hard to believe that the mosque the 9/11 hijackers used in maryland or somewhere up north would still be in existence especially if they are radical as they claim…radio show down here claimed the army major went to that same mosque a few times and planned this shooting. He waited until all the mps were shipped off to another base for training.
not once in my 26 months in CONUS in the marines have i ever heard of a base not having any mps available because of training.
theres some crazy (mis)information?? out there
November 9th, 2009 at 9:03 am
we ALL won this week, jersey. we ALL won.
/because the browns didn’t play
November 9th, 2009 at 9:04 am
agreed.
November 9th, 2009 at 9:06 am
And because Notre Dame assured us that we won’t have to see them get butchered in a BCS Bowl.
November 9th, 2009 at 9:07 am
It’s a lot of things. O line can’t run block AT ALL, Collie and Garcon are both young and still mistake prone, they’ll be starting two rookie corners against Moss and I just know somehow the 5-8 Tim Jennings will get singled on him like he did in the ‘07 game. I don’t see it being a shootout, though. Probably low 20’s, down to the wire.
You predicted that an undersized safety who plays completely out of control would get hurt? Good job. Cutting Sanders after this season would save the Colts about $300,000, so he’ll be back in 2010. But there’s a 70 percent chance that’ll be the last season he spends in a Colts uniform, sadly.
November 9th, 2009 at 9:07 am
We Are. Penn State Not Good.
you’re not wrong.
November 9th, 2009 at 9:11 am
sometimes i really wish there was someone in the booth with people on the radio that would just put their hand over the microphone and ask “do you really think that’s a responsible thing to say right now”?
November 9th, 2009 at 9:12 am
I was busting your balls. But seriously, he’s played like 6 games since he won defensive poy. It’s gotta be frustrating.
November 9th, 2009 at 9:13 am
Mornings are angry. I’m not cut out for this cruel, cruel world.
/passes out
November 9th, 2009 at 9:16 am
Definitely. Luckily, his backup’s really good. It’s not exactly Tony Romo to Brad Johnson.
November 9th, 2009 at 9:23 am
I concur. Darryl Clark is an overrated piece of garbage. I think I accurately nailed it at our tailgate on Saturday when I compared him to Ron Dayne. Racks up yards/TDs against the weak teams in conference, but as soon as he has to play the “better” teams he flat out sucks.
November 9th, 2009 at 9:25 am
/passes out
who cares?
November 9th, 2009 at 9:27 am
Sorry Irish, I was just saying I’m tired. I didn’t realize everything I say here needs to be gold.
November 9th, 2009 at 9:30 am
The SEC crews have been terrible this year. However, I like how almost everyone assumes LSU would have marched down the field and scored if the interception call would have been (correctly) reversed. McElroy better improve ASAP, Ingram is a beast.
Conrats to the Buckeyes.
November 9th, 2009 at 9:31 am
Irish is just crankly about that 28 pt loss to the Thunder.
November 9th, 2009 at 9:36 am
However, I like how almost everyone assumes LSU would have marched down the field and scored if the interception call would have been (correctly) reversed.
I don’t think they would have, but I would have preferred seeing them try to storming around screaming FIX at the TV. And i’m not even an LSU fan.
November 9th, 2009 at 9:44 am
Irish is just crankly about that 28 pt loss to the Thunder
funny JayV. Am i disappointed we lost? of course. 4th different lineup in 6 games. no continuity
November 9th, 2009 at 9:46 am
LT looks high in that Mugshot, No?
November 9th, 2009 at 9:46 am
Really? I’m a giants fan and they’re awful right now, as is washington. That looks more like 3-2, 4-1 than 0-5
November 9th, 2009 at 10:06 am
Man city, you don’t know the dallas swoon? They get games they can win in December, but they lose them. That’s 3 division games, all of which are loseable because they’re division games, and two tough opponents.
Washington isn’t finishing 2-14, and if they can get up for one game, it’s home V dallas.
November 9th, 2009 at 10:17 am
From the Ft Hood story:
Clearly this guy had mental issues for years.
November 9th, 2009 at 11:18 am
in-depth look at the Ft. Hood shooter …
What’s to know?!? He was a Muslin and was part of “el Presidente” Obama’s secret terror plot to destroy ‘Merika!!!
/Beck’d
I feel stupider having just typed that. I award myself no points and may God have mercy on my soul.
November 9th, 2009 at 12:15 pm
The bottom line with the SEC refs is that we just shouldn’t have to make these guesses about how games would end. They are affecting them, and it has to stop. It’s week after week, and it’s embarrassing.
November 9th, 2009 at 2:20 pm
As a resident of the Commonwealth, I can say without equivocation that Northern Virginia(where Ms. Bullock is from) isn’t really Virginia. It’s practically a separate state, and Southern accents are few and far between.
