Sammy Sosa to “Primer Impacto,” a program on Univision: “It’s a cream that I have, that I use to soften [my skin], but has bleached me some. I’m not a racist, I live my life happily … I had been using the cream for a long time and that, combined with the bright TV lights, made my face look whiter than it really is. Rome went on about this for about a half-hour yesterday and essentially said it was the wife’s responsibility to tell him that he looked like a wacko before he left the house to hit the red carpet.
I did chuckle when he said “Sammy, you see that big thing in the sky? It’s called the sun. Stand under it for a while”
