Ken Griffey Jr. Will Return to Seattle
1-liner, Baseball November 11th. 2009, 4:45pm
MLB Hot Stove! Rather than sign one of the appealing free agent DHs (Vladdy loves the West coast), the Seattle Mariners have opted to instead welcome home Ken Griffey Jr., again. The Kid is 40 years old, batted .214 last year and had surgery last month to remove a bone spur in his left knee. Sounds about as promising as a foam party with the cast from Cocoon. [Seattle Times]

this means no Matsui to Seattle, and when they boot Damon and greedy Boras, Matsui stays!

Dear Mariners: Michael Cuddyer and someone for Franklin Gutierrez. Kthxbai

TBL- The Mariners probably won’t be signing any big free agents. They’ve got too much money tied up in bad contracts like Silva and Batista. If they do sign someone to a big deal it’ll be Felix to an extension.

Hey may not put up numbers, but it was a good signing. Just to have him in the clubhouse made the Mariners a better team last season. Plus, they make a forture off of him. The Mariners store at Safeco is all Griffey and the fans have gone crazy buying it up.

Varitek accepts option, stays with BoSox

Except that it didn’t make them a contender and he’s taking plate appearances away from younger players who could actually help make the team better, as compared to Griffey’s pretend making the team better.

When did they make it a law that all the Japs have to play in Seattle? Somebody better call that Hideous Homo guy and see if he’s still around.

An epic soccer thread. I was disgusted in some parts and giggled like a school boy after a fart in class in others.
There should be a thread Hall of Fame where these threads can be remembered.

ms621: agreed. I have been clamoring for “David Wright’s girl” on the top right to come down in lieu of “butt caliper thread” for months to no avail

That “sinnerman” song is really making a comeback these days. On 24/7 and now a new string of commercials. It makes me want to grab the cast of Cocoon and hit the clubs.
