Brooke Hundley, the ESPN Staffer Who Had an Affair with Baseball Analyst Steve Phillilps, Talks to Good Morning America [UPDATE: Video]
ESPN, Media Gossip/Musings November 12th. 2009, 7:56amBrooke Hundley gave a teary interview to Good Morning America’s Kate Snow a few minutes ago. Hundley was pretty guarded about her affair with Steve Phillips.
* Jay Leno made Hundley cry. “When Jay Leno was using my looks as part of his opening monologue to get a cheap laugh … at that point … a person has a breaking point.”
* Hundley has been advised legally not to speak about anything regarding Phillips, but she did say, “I was in a situation where I felt like if I didn’t do what was asked of me, then everything I had worked for in the past six years … would be gone like that.”
* Brooke hinted that she went to ESPN management about whatever was going on with Phillips. She was unclear on this topic, but it almost sounded like she was thinking about suing the WWL. She chose her words carefully enough to leave it open to interpretation.
* Hundley has heard the 911 call by Phillips wife, and said, “the same fear I heard in her voice was a similar fear to how I felt” … then Kate Snow mentioned the affair and the letter and the texting and Hundley got teary and said, “I brought it on, but not intentionally … I wanted someone to get upset enough to have an impact to get me out of this horrific situation.”
* She oddly said that “anything between me and Steve has been resolved” – which could mean a) he paid her to lift the restraining order or b) she has no plans to sue him.
Dimestore analysis: If she’s going after anyone, it is ESPN.

Yep, still fat.
November 12th, 2009 at 8:05 am
It would have been perfect if Snow printed her out the TBL thread. She would’ve killed herself on the spot.

What is the world coming to when a fatty gets rich by suing for sexual harrassment?
November 12th, 2009 at 8:09 am
“So, I hear you’re fat.”
November 12th, 2009 at 8:09 am
CJ – no. 9 pm. i will post the video of Hundley as soon as it goes online.
I’ll try to suppress laughter re: GSG/TG.
November 12th, 2009 at 8:11 am
Other titles for the segment that were being batted around:
“‘Are you going to finish that?’ The Brooke Hundley Story”
“Parking lot sex for plus sized girls.”
“Could you pass the gravy?”
November 12th, 2009 at 8:11 am
Delayed roundups suck
November 12th, 2009 at 8:12 am
Well this is certainly more funny after the way the Post covered the Hundley story.

November 12th, 2009 at 8:15 am
ot but i feel the need to say this:
we have a known jihadist in the army shoot up nearly 50 people and we are more worried about muslim backlash and keeping diversity in the military?
we should be looking for more of these people and kicking them out and/or throwing them in jail for treason.
general casey can shove that diversity up his ass. Political correctness is a disease in this country.
/end rant
November 12th, 2009 at 8:16 am
anybody else get that wilson phillips song in there head when they saw brooke hundley?
November 12th, 2009 at 8:16 am
Yes that lowly internship in Bristol must have been exactly what you worked those six long years for. Fatties don’t make good drama queens. If that is the case they are just called “single.”
November 12th, 2009 at 8:17 am
Okay, the girl is fat and she did something crazy. Time to move on.

John McCain yesterday: “We need to make sure that political correctness never impedes national security.”
November 12th, 2009 at 8:18 am
Who are you calling “these people”?
November 12th, 2009 at 8:18 am
We’re missing the most important point here – someone actually watches Jay Leno?

November 12th, 2009 at 8:20 am
I agree with your overall point but how are they going to sniff out others who are like this guy? Or are you suggesting just booting all Muslims?
November 12th, 2009 at 8:23 am
Why cant it be both? Look for extremists in your own ranks, yet dont discriminate against every middle eastern? Sounds more reasonable.
November 12th, 2009 at 8:25 am
who said to discriminate?
November 12th, 2009 at 8:25 am
Or are you suggesting just booting all Muslims?
to be safe, you have to quarantine all non-whites. It’s really the only way to ensure our freedom.
November 12th, 2009 at 8:25 am
I think the way it was worded is the problem. Of course you want diversity in the military, but when it was phrased like that you’re pretty much inviting others to label you.
November 12th, 2009 at 8:25 am
Well, I don’t know about the rest of the potentials, but this guy should’ve been drummed out of the military immediately after his speech…I mean, if someone had done that thing, only substituted communist for Muslim during the Cold War, he’d be lucky to only get life in prison.
November 12th, 2009 at 8:26 am
Well now I do, TANKS FER NUTHIN!

November 12th, 2009 at 8:27 am
So, if he was a Catholic, would you want to boot all the Catholics? Jews?
November 12th, 2009 at 8:27 am
I think there’s a fine line. Otherwise you get situations like my Muslim friend, born and raised in Champaign, IL but of Eygptian descent who had the misfortune of being chased across our college campus by a group of frat boys on 9/11.
November 12th, 2009 at 8:28 am
I can’t wait to see the clip of Carrie Prejean on Larry King Live. They just played on the radio – it was funny just listening to it.
November 12th, 2009 at 8:29 am
Best I’ve heard so far:
“She looks like she should be on Fraggle Rock.”
and
“Her face is just constantly blowing a bubble.”
November 12th, 2009 at 8:29 am
well, guess it is only a matter of time (length of no compete clause) before he ends up on Fox.
November 12th, 2009 at 8:30 am
somebody get TBL a cold towel! and run him an Epsom Salt bath, STAT!
November 12th, 2009 at 8:30 am
I can’t wait to see the clip of Carrie Prejean on Larry King Live.
was the clip of her solo sex tape? That’s what I want to see.
November 12th, 2009 at 8:30 am
You’re right. This guy should have been an easy target to get rid of and I don’t understand how he wasn’t booted. My fear would be that things will now slingshot to far in the other direction and people will go into witch hunt mode. That would not be good.
November 12th, 2009 at 8:31 am
I like Lou Dobbs, and they should have him do an episode with Geraldo just to fuck with Geraldo. Rivera cant stand Dobbs.
November 12th, 2009 at 8:31 am
Yes, let’s round up and alienate the only soldiers that we have that can communicate in the lands that we are running two wars in. Also, let’s act as though non-Muslim soldiers have never shot their peers. It’s always easy to see a “minority” threat out there as a trend
The fact is that there was evidence that this guy was screwed up and we didn’t pursue it. Blaming this on “Muslims” in general is just fear-mongering
You mean like allowing capable gays to remain in our Armed Forces, instead of not wanting to upset the Christian fanatics.
November 12th, 2009 at 8:32 am
Why Dobbs really had to quit
November 12th, 2009 at 8:34 am
I have no problem with anyone thats willing to fight for the country to be in the armed forces. I couldn’t care less about someone’s religion or sexual preference.
November 12th, 2009 at 8:34 am
nice to see so many of you twisting what TexansFan said. he was saying we should go after the known Jihadists in the military, not all the Muslims.

November 12th, 2009 at 8:36 am
How many “known Jihadists” are in the military, seriously.
November 12th, 2009 at 8:37 am
thank you for finding something that wasnt even there (maggs and staph). if you read what i said you would have seen the word jihadist. Its not that hard. You can do it. Now go get fucked
November 12th, 2009 at 8:38 am
he was saying we should go after the known Jihadists in the military
he also said fuck diversity and something about “these people”.
November 12th, 2009 at 8:38 am
Exactly. I think we know that this means more than just acting upon intelligence. People are proposing rounding Muslims up and interrogating them based upon their religion.
November 12th, 2009 at 8:39 am
If they are “known” jihadists, why did we let them in the military in the first place? His argument is disingenious.
November 12th, 2009 at 8:39 am
probably more than any of us know. you honestly believe that the information leaking out about Hassan is just an isolated case?
November 12th, 2009 at 8:40 am
GSG- LoL!
I hope I can find this on YouTube late.
November 12th, 2009 at 8:40 am
That meant the jihadists, soldiers about to snap, and religious zealots who will kill in the name of their God. Give him a pass on that one.
November 12th, 2009 at 8:40 am
Racial profiling is the way to go, of course.

November 12th, 2009 at 8:52 am
speaking of changing the subject, did you guy read last night’s lengthy TBL after dark, where somebody admitted that they hated somebody else, and then a bunch of people piled on about the one somebody who he hated, and then that one somebody showed up and had hurt feelings?
It was awkward.
/ You can also find out what I had for dinner.
November 12th, 2009 at 8:52 am
who said anything about letting them in? the background check of a recruit is not that intensive. a soldier’s background isn’t look into as deeply as they are until they are actually in the military, or getting involved in a specific branch or assignment into it. for example, NSA will show up at people’s doors questioning the validity of a soldier that has interest in becoming a NAVY SEAL.
November 12th, 2009 at 8:53 am
Dirt – yea I was a part of that. I have no problem with the guy.

Can partisan bullshit politics fucking stop in this country? Honestly? WE WILL NEVER GET ANYTHING DONE. WE just keep fighting back and forth over bullshit topics, and for serious topics we go back and forth without offering a real solution. Then we just pass the buck to the next generation while our debt just piles up to the point where in 30 years we went from 10 triilion surplus to an 12 trillion deficit. Sorry to get all Paolo’d on everyone, but it makes me sick.
November 12th, 2009 at 8:57 am

kinda like when guys from Egypt showed up to learn how to fly a 767 and didn’t need to know anything about that “landing thing”

I like how at airports we have agents that are just sneaking things past checkpoints without any issues. So pretty much we’re not as safe as we think.

“According to CNN affiliate KTVK, neighbors said they weren’t surprised and actually were waiting for something to happen. They said the 62-year-old King would leave with a horse trailer at night and come back with it packed full. The neighbors said they never saw any horses.”
