NBA Three-Team Deal in the Works?
1-liner, NBA November 18th. 2009, 2:55pmSacramento, Philly, Boston Trade?: “Sources told ESPN.com that the Philadelphia 76ers and Sacramento Kings, in considering the feasibility of a Samuel Dalembert-for-Kenny Thomas swap, have discussed expanding that concept with Boston by trying to draw in the Celtics on a potential three-way deal that would land Andres Nocioni with the Celts.” Knee-jerk reaction – why would anyone want to take on Dalembert’s albatross of a contract? The Celtics getting Nocioni would be a smart move – he’s a fundamentally solid player who could steal some minutes in the frontcourt and save the legs of Boston’s aging frontline. Actually, we hate this deal … because it helps Boston, considerably. [Marc Stein]

i can’t believe anyone would take sammy the cats deal. he sucks, really bad.
November 18th, 2009 at 2:59 pm
Nocioni is signed through 2012 with a team option for 2013. a lot of $ to take on

i don’t get it, even after I read Stein. I don’t understand what Sacramento gains, and they’re the ones trying to make the deal. It’s like handing Boston a free, good, drunk player.
November 18th, 2009 at 3:03 pm
lol, I remember when Sammy was going to be the future star for the Sixers. It’s funny how players slowly being sucky after one good year that gains them prominence. Makes you appreciate the consistent players even more.
I’m a fan of Nocioni (was not a fan of his ugly ass goatee though); I’d hate it if this went through.

I don’t understand what Sacramento gains
TBL fave dunker JR Giddens, Sammy D. Tony Allen, Ginger Scal, Kenny Thomas to Sacramento. Drink and drive to Boston

Not enough to help the Celtics against the young, fresh legs of the Hawks in the playoffs.
/are we still ignoring the Hawks as an East contender? Couldn’t remember.
November 18th, 2009 at 3:05 pm
Kenny Thomas. That piece of dung was already on the Sixers once. That was enough.
November 18th, 2009 at 3:06 pm
@MattRyan- why dont you go out and support your Hawks? Mike Woodson is calling out fans. 3,000 fans in attendance at tip off on monday night

I thought they were building something nice with Hawes and Thompson in Sacramento. Why screw that up with Dalembert?
November 18th, 2009 at 3:08 pm
Boston gains by subtracting Tony Allen and Scalabrine. Because management knows Doc has a soft spot for stupid backup guards. If they dump him, Doc can’t play him.

No shit. The only good thing about a house that empty is sitting where you want. Still rather have it full.

For those more plugged into the romor mills in the NBA:
I’ve heard a few quiet rumors that if Joe Johnson and his large contract are not extended, we could agressively pursue LBJ with the cash if he shits on Cleveland. Think it’s even possible?
November 18th, 2009 at 3:20 pm
Think it’s even possible?
Lebron to ATL?
November 18th, 2009 at 3:21 pm
Lebron and Josh Smith would be scary. It’d be like Batman and Robin.
November 18th, 2009 at 3:22 pm
Chris Bosh and D-Wade in MIA!
November 18th, 2009 at 3:23 pm
first off…no, not possible.
second off…will these retarded rumors ever stop?
November 18th, 2009 at 3:23 pm
why not…im sure lebron would love to play in front of those sell out crowds in atl
November 18th, 2009 at 3:24 pm
I heard LeBron might sign with the Nordiques. My sources indicate he’s been taking French classes.
November 18th, 2009 at 3:24 pm
u know the answer to that spencer…it wont stop until he signs on the line that is dotted
November 18th, 2009 at 3:25 pm
more likely than the hawks
November 18th, 2009 at 3:26 pm
unfortunately i do.
November 18th, 2009 at 3:27 pm
Cleveland sold out the arena every night before LBJ showed up?
And they would be able to make it happen, financially, from what I’ve heard with a shorter deal. Which also give him more options in a few years.
November 18th, 2009 at 3:27 pm
I don’t Nocioni as helping the Celts at all…simply put — he’s terrible.
November 18th, 2009 at 3:29 pm
atlanta has a history of being the worst professional sports city in the country, clevelanders are intensely loyal.
advantage…cleveland.
and this is nonsense…he’s going to the nets.
November 18th, 2009 at 3:30 pm
just yankin your chain matt…he isnt going to go to the hawks. u think lebron would take a shorter deal-less money to play for atlanta for what 3 years? c’mon
November 18th, 2009 at 3:36 pm
Plus, he didn’t grow up in Atlanta. The Hawks are a competitive team right now, and the fans still hardly care.
November 18th, 2009 at 3:36 pm
I know. I thought he wanted a short-mid deal next to keep options open while he can still sign for huge dollars?
Whatever, kettle. The supporting cast in ATL > supporting cast in cleveland
Just a dream I know, but still a top 5 team for him I’d think.
November 18th, 2009 at 3:37 pm
rofl-isberger.
November 18th, 2009 at 3:44 pm
all sorts of worng there but whatever…every team thinks they have a shot for lebron
November 18th, 2009 at 3:54 pm
He would be THE MAN in ATL just as Nique was.
November 18th, 2009 at 3:56 pm
lebron is already bigger than nique ever was…sorry, but it’s true.
November 18th, 2009 at 4:00 pm
I said in the ATL. Atlanta is like a darkhorse NYC if LeBron is leaving Cleveland for the reasons people are speculating on. It’s a popular destination for professional African Americans, it is the home of a communications giant, and one of the main hubs of the music industry.
November 18th, 2009 at 4:01 pm
That’s true, but Dominique played in a better “league.” Fewer teams, better 1-12 talent, fewer insolent crab-dribbling rookies who are 19.
But true, Lebron’s surpassed ‘Nique in ability and achievements.
November 18th, 2009 at 4:05 pm
so he’d be the man in the ATL…he’s already the man in the COUNTRY, and that won’t change no matter where he plays.
November 18th, 2009 at 4:18 pm
Which country? Not this one, or China.
November 18th, 2009 at 4:20 pm
No he’s not. But even if he was, it’s not enough to his liking, evidently or else it would be easy for him to sign for the most money in Cleveland.
November 18th, 2009 at 4:22 pm
OUR country.
November 18th, 2009 at 4:24 pm
those two things are completely unrelated.
November 18th, 2009 at 4:36 pm
They’re completely related.
