Bengals Dips Back into Dirty Well, Sign Larry Johnson
1-liner, NFL November 17th. 2009, 5:45pmLarry Johnson: He’s going to the Bengals. Talk about win-win … he leaves the 2-7 Chiefs for a 7-2 division leader that is in the Super Bowl discussion. He’ll almost certainly be on the playoff roster. What’s more likely, LJ steals Chad Ocho Cinco’s girl, or LJ whines about not getting as many carries as promised? [Enquirer]

Option #3: LJ steals Chad’s woman, takes her out on a boat trip with Cedric Benson, who’s erratic drunk driving causes Carson to tear his ACL while wakeboarding. News is broken via Ocho Cinco’s twitter.

I’d be interested to hear from bsanders or someone else who knows NFL football on thoughts on what downs and situations in which he’ll be used in Cincinnati. Good for him and a pox on the lowly Chiefs all the same.
Use him on 2nd and/or 3rd and short for the carries or screen passes or ? …you get the idea.

Paolo,
He will be used later in games that have been decided to take some of the load off of Ced Benson. The Bengals still play the Raiders, Browns, Lions, and Chiefs. Obviously, they SHOULD do well in these games, and there isnt any reason to give Ced 25-30 carries in them.

LJ whines about his carries to Ocho’s girl in a bar, then pushes her in the face when she tells him to man up & stop whining like a bitch

he just got his foot in the door. i am sure he will go from 4th spot to 2 or 3 after a few weeks. honestly, who has not called someone a fag or a girl a cunny?

Lj is so 2005. He was finished years ago.

Goddammit. I’ve been over at Cincy Jungle absolutely railing against this signing. I mean, who doesn’t want a running back that’ll spit drinks in the faces of women who turn him down or will fall down as soon as a defensive player gets about five yards from him?
Yes, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He’ll almost certainly be on the playoff roster.
I disagree that this is a certainty, or even almost a certainty. If they can have Benson, B Scott, and Leonard all reasonably healthy, then they wont’ need him.
And the article said nothing of the sort. I actually clicked this one.

…and the Bengals magical carriage will soon turn into a pumpkin as midnite fast approaches…

LJ is terrible and has been washed up for years.
Seriously. Think Shaun Alexander-type decline.
November 17th, 2009 at 6:15 pm
I agree with Mike.
Not to mention dude is a fuckin headcase going to a team who hasnt won in years. This could be great to watch on so many levels.
November 17th, 2009 at 6:16 pm
Seriously. Think Shaun Alexander-type decline.
exactly.
November 17th, 2009 at 6:17 pm
Except make Shaun Alexander evil.

What good can the newfound winning Bengals possibly get by this signing? Can OchoCinco and LJ exist on the same team?
November 17th, 2009 at 6:24 pm
as i said on my site today:
LJ goes from a crap team, to the best team in the AFC North. Winner? I’ll let you know when Cincy implodes.
November 17th, 2009 at 6:26 pm
I don’t agree with you or Mike (as almost always on the latter).
You guys watching too much ESPN? Even that stupid show “The Sports Reporters?” “Meet the Depressed” too? What the heck?
Being on a winning team sure changes a whole lot upstairs. He’ll be fine and the Bengals will be winning the division anyway.

In his defense, the O line of the Chiefs decline had a lot more to do with his YPC than this own decline
November 17th, 2009 at 6:29 pm
it can, but not sure this is Corey Dillon going to the Pats type deal. The Patriots were already champs and had strong leadership on the field and the coaching staff. Though the Bengals are playing extremely well, not sure we can say that about this team.
November 17th, 2009 at 6:30 pm
no doubt. losing roaf and shields killed him.
November 17th, 2009 at 6:31 pm
He was on a winning Chiefs team and was still a piece of me first shit.

I don’t think Larry Johnson destroys the bengals, but the guy hasn’t been sucking because of the Cheifs (unless you count the fact that Herm Edwards broke him with those two insane high mileage seasons), he’s been sucking cause he sucks now. And he is pretty clearly a prima donna douche, and not in the Chad Johnson way, more in the eventual 3 to five years way.

Jamaal Charles numbers haven’t looked like his behind the same line when they’re smart enouh to give him the ball.
November 17th, 2009 at 6:42 pm
TST he won’t be used in a core role, so he won’t be in some position to destroy them. I think you and others might be reading too much into his recent “misbehaviour,” but hey we’ve beaten that one to death on here and you get the idea.
November 17th, 2009 at 6:48 pm
Love this columnon Johnson over all, but his recent behavior is hardly the only problem. You’re totally right about his position on the Bengals Paolo.

Saints have signed Chris McAllister. Guess they’re worried about their DB depth/health issues.
