Elizabeth Lambert, New Mexico Soccer Savage: “I have so much regret. I can’t believe I did that.”
Video, Women's Sports November 17th. 2009, 10:30pmElizabeth Lambert spoke to Jere Longman of New York Times, and here are two of the many highlights:
* She was appalled that someone wrote on the internet, “I should be taken to a state prison, raped and left for dead in a ditch.”
* Some men sent her messages saying, “Hey, we should meet up some time.” [NYT]

Anyone whose has played a lot competitively on a court or field, more than just pick up, knows that it happens sometimes when you go to battle with all those hormones flowing. Perfectly natural too. Believe it.
November 17th, 2009 at 10:36 pm
Why apologize, toots? It makes me want to bang you less.
November 17th, 2009 at 10:36 pm
that’s violent not competitive.

Cool, Maver1ck. How big was his strike zone?
And fuck this Reese’s court. Fuck. This is horrible to play on.

I’d pull her ponytail like she likes, but I’d be behind her and screaming “only 8 more seconds, Bevo!, then I’d Donkey punch her when I finished tearing up that ass”

jpq, you forgot to include a Taco Bell reference in there.
November 17th, 2009 at 10:53 pm
Strike zone? I said basketball, not baseball. Thankfully I never had to guard him!
November 17th, 2009 at 10:54 pm
LOL …seconded, but I would want to do it to her many more times so save the donkey punch or whatever perhaps for later.

tampa: I’m a little Taco Bell fan, actually, but I’m not spending the next 6 months talking basket by basket college hoops every night on TBL After Dark. I decided while I’m surfing that when I saw a new post, I decided to change the tone a little.
November 17th, 2009 at 11:05 pm
I think you’re right. I dig that girl that got her hair pulled. Shows me that she can take it.
November 17th, 2009 at 11:06 pm
Very late to comment on TBL’s quote… Sure. Will never see another team that never won ANYTHING. They didn’t win a Big 10 title, they didn’t win a preseason tourney, they didn’t win an NCAA title.
They got paid blatantly, talked a lot of smack, got UM’s NCAA appearances whitewashed for their efforts, and overall just created a culture of long shorts.
Yep, will never see anything like it again…

November 17th, 2009 at 11:16 pm
Totally agree. I know I was pretty dirty on the soccer field, and one time during a basketball game I ran down the court dropping an f bomb at the top of my lungs…somehow the ref didn’t hear it, though the crowd became very quiet and my coach pulled me immediately. Thankfully it was the one game my dad missed that year, or I would’ve been smacked.
November 17th, 2009 at 11:18 pm
THANK CHRIST! The Ravens finally released Hauschka. What a terrible pussy of a kicker that kid ended up being.
Is that an oxymoron?
And yes, I know the Ravens have no shot in the playoffs. Our corners are dogshit. Although Lardarius Webb looks like he may end up being decent.
November 17th, 2009 at 11:23 pm
buckner, its not an oxymoron, rather its just redundant

November 17th, 2009 at 11:23 pm
Ahhh, right you are, sir.
November 17th, 2009 at 11:25 pm
Christ… Dickie just gave Calipari the “he and the basketball program did nothing wrong” speech… Does he need to take a shower after doing stuff like that? That would have been a great question to ask him during his interview.
I haven’t watched the whole game. Has he given his “Duke is great” speech yet?
November 17th, 2009 at 11:28 pm
Xavier Henry… pronounced Za-Vee-A Henry. WTF is that? Seriously? Hate the dude already. In a Kansas uni starts it, the name finishes it.
November 17th, 2009 at 11:30 pm
Yeah, I cringed listening to that, too. He actually did ask Vitale, but Vitale said since he wasn’t the one who gave the kids the stuff, that he wasn’t responsible, how could he know, etc. etc. Basically, a load of shit. Calipari is a douche. But I will enjoy Kentucky’s upcoming postseason ban in a few years.
November 17th, 2009 at 11:32 pm
I take it you’ve never been to Utah.
November 17th, 2009 at 11:37 pm
Billy -
I know he asked about the Memphis stuff. I wanted to know if Vitale has to shower to get the muck that he spews off of him on a nightly basis.
If he would just stick to the game at hand, he is rather good. But, it’s the excess shit about Calipari and Duke and Roy Williams and Duke and Diaper Dandies and Duke and North Carolina and their rivalry with Duke that just drive me up the wall…
I did notice the Dickie Final 4 prediction includes 2 Big 10 teams. Me thinks that the Big 10 abuse in college hoops will go away this year…
November 17th, 2009 at 11:46 pm
Got it, my bad.
And even though I’m an ACC guy, the slurping does get excessive.
But there’s no way the Big 10 wins the Challenge this year. Or ever for that matter. It’s just science.
November 17th, 2009 at 11:47 pm
Not as long as Iowa’s in the conference.
And I would personally like to take Virginia’s AD out back and shoot him in the face for bringing Bennett into the league. That shit doesn’t belong in the ACC.
November 17th, 2009 at 11:51 pm
Billy -
You sure that there’s no way? Iowa and Indiana are not good, but the Hoosiers will be much better. Northwestern was going to be a real bitch until Coble broke his foot this week and is done for the year. (That was a HUGE hit to a very solid Wildcat team). Penn State is not very good either. After that, there are 7 teams that range from good to Final 4 great…
For the first time in a long time, I like the matchups to get the Big 10 a win in the Challenge. And, if you don’t like it this year, they should be really loaded next year.
November 17th, 2009 at 11:52 pm
Yeah, I just saw that score when I was debating whether or not to go to class this morning. What the fuck happened there? Jesus. At least that’s two ACC wins for the Terps, if nothing else.
November 17th, 2009 at 11:52 pm
Indiana sucks Wally. And they’re giving games away by going up tempo this year.
November 17th, 2009 at 11:53 pm
Defense?
I jest, I jest. It’s awkward ball, but how can you argue with success?
November 17th, 2009 at 11:55 pm
Beadle -
Yes, IU still sucks. But, Crean will get every fucking ounce of those kids all year and probably steal a couple that they aren’t supposed to. They played really hard last year with no one on their roster. He now has some talent, but they are still likely 2 years away from being a decent team.
November 17th, 2009 at 11:57 pm
I’d like to think I’m pretty sure (which probably means I’ll be wrong, my teams all fucking blow this year).
I like the Terps over Indiana (horribly biased), and actually, I have no idea. It actually looks relatively even. I even probably would’ve said MSU over UNC until seeing how MSU played tonight. I think the ACC still pulls it out, but it may actually be close this year. I didn’t look at the whole schedule. Though Clemson is always tough early, and I think N.C. State might be half-decent. But Wake will probably lose.
Yeah, I have no idea. I’ll just say the ACC.
November 17th, 2009 at 11:57 pm
I actually like Crean, killed me he went to Indiana.
November 17th, 2009 at 11:59 pm
Don’t confuse tempo with defense. The ACC has always been an uptempo league, because on the whole, the league has the best players. Bennett’s team suck the air (and the life) out of the ball in an attempt to nullify talent deficiencies. It might get UVA some wins, but it’s not good basketball and it hurts everyone in the league.
November 18th, 2009 at 12:00 am
And this made me laugh…a lot. Probably way more than it should have. I’d email it to TBL by I’m lazy and at work and still have to run whenever the hell I get out of here.
November 18th, 2009 at 12:02 am
Kills me too… The Big 10 has some great coaches now. Izzo, Beilein, Matta, Crean, Painter, Ryan, Tubby… Those are guys with a great deal of success (albeit at different points in their career). The styles differ now with Crean, Beilein, and Tubby playing different ball than the league has seen…
I do think that the top 7 of the Big 10 will be a meat grinder. First time in a long time that it will be that way…
November 18th, 2009 at 12:03 am
what the fuck is going on right now
November 18th, 2009 at 12:04 am
Agree with a good portion of this, but don’t think it’s bad basketball. It’s DIFFERENT basketball. The Bennett’s have proved, along with others, that this style of ball can win. I actually think that Tony’s teams will play faster because defenses in the ACC are more interested in getting the ball back to score than they are in stopping the other team.
November 18th, 2009 at 12:05 am
At least they’ve made the tournament in their existence unlike those cagey scenesters from Northwestern!
/Iowa does not acknowledge basketball as a sport, they will lose over 22 games this year
//it requires “athletes”…the same ones Notre Dame complained they didn’t get enough of in football a few years ago
///those guys don’t like playing in Iowa
////goes back into hiding
November 18th, 2009 at 12:05 am
The Bennets brought some pretty talented guys into Pullman.
November 18th, 2009 at 12:05 am
fetch, what is this shit? You guys should be killing Memphis.
November 18th, 2009 at 12:06 am
HEY! SC! Did he lose a bet or something? Where’s he been?
November 18th, 2009 at 12:06 am
Tallguy, you should never say you want to shoot someone in the face. It’s extreme and drowns out your point… ala Glenn Beck.

November 18th, 2009 at 12:08 am
Buck:
1. Memphis has been an elite defensive team for a few years now
2. Xavier and Tyshawn have been forcing it too much
3. Sherron was out for awhile injured.
November 18th, 2009 at 12:09 am
SC! You’re alive!
Condolences on Saturday…
/Said with a rose in my mouth…
//Made my reservations for Pasadena yesterday, thankyouverymuch…

4. KU is playing like shit.
5. Memphis full court press is pretty good.
November 18th, 2009 at 12:11 am
correction: our guards are playing like shit
November 18th, 2009 at 12:13 am
This KU/Memphis game proves 1 thing to me:
College basketball starts wayyyy too early now. More November practice needed, less November faux-scrimmages…
November 18th, 2009 at 12:13 am
Todd Lickliter is actually a very good coach, but Alford left Iowa in such a shitter, that it will take a very long time to get them back to respectability
November 18th, 2009 at 12:13 am
True
November 18th, 2009 at 12:13 am
You clearly jinxed them with your Henry post last night.
/Cuz, ya know…that would be what would jinx and entire basketball team.
November 18th, 2009 at 12:15 am
Agreed. fucking fetch!
November 18th, 2009 at 12:15 am
I’ll bow to SC on this, but Lickliter seems to be having a lot of problems keeping kids in Hawkeye Land…
/It might not be a Lickliter problem…
November 18th, 2009 at 12:16 am
fuck it. Let’s lose so we can forget about the undefeated talk
November 18th, 2009 at 12:18 am
if you see what he did at butler, you need guys who have fundementals and who will buy into the system. Needs to get those kind of guys…. going to be a long year for the hawkeyes though
November 18th, 2009 at 12:18 am
I always liked Lickliter he coached at Danville, IN after graduating from Butler which is like 5 minutes from my house. Always seemed like a good coach there and when he was at Butler.
November 18th, 2009 at 12:19 am

November 18th, 2009 at 12:24 am
I’m a Hoosier as well. It’s just too bad that people don’t realize how good he was. Butler now is getting LOADS of talent. Stevens will be gone shortly.
November 18th, 2009 at 12:25 am
God I love Bill Self.

Butler is going to be REALLY good this year. They aren’t getting the pub that I expected that they would. They should be disappointed with anything less than Sweet 16, imo..
November 18th, 2009 at 12:37 am
mama, do you think he will be gone because he is not good or he will move on to bigger, but not necessarily better things like his predecessors?
November 18th, 2009 at 12:47 am
agreed. If they play to their potential, they could be really good. Have a Brutal non conference schedule
November 18th, 2009 at 12:49 am
Sallie, he’ll get picked up by a big program… he has all underclassmen at a mid-major and they dominate. Butler pays him maybe 250-300k, some big program will take him away for triple/quadruple that.
November 18th, 2009 at 12:07 pm
