Brendan Shanahan Retires From NHL
1-liner, NHL November 18th. 2009, 5:30pmRetired: Brendan Shanahan has retired from the NHL at age 40 after 21 seasons. He’s an eight-time all-star, and scored 656 goals ( a further 60 in the playoffs). He won an Olympic Gold Medal with Canada and three Stanley Cups with the Detroit Red Wings. He also holds the unofficial record for Gordie Howe Hat Tricks (goal, assist, fight in same game) with nine. He lived near me when he played for Detroit. An array of king-sized candy bars on Halloween. Class epitomized. (Canada.com)

I liked that part. Thanks for the nine years of Pronger by the way. He was useful in the Blues neverending quest to escape the second round.
