Knicks a “Given” to Bid for Allen Iverson
1-liner, NBA November 18th. 2009, 6:45pmIverson to Knicks? A source close to the Knicks told the New York Times it’s “a given” the Knicks will pursue Allen Iverson after he clears waivers tomorrow evening. Assuming there’s no bidding war, they could get him for the veterans’ minimum, $1.3 million, as they still have their $5.8 million midlevel exception. Little risk. They’re 1-9. Why not? Duffy, you’re doing a fine job keeping the posts coming and interesting, and I appreciate it.
That said, we learned yesterday that the Knicks front office was doing Iverson’s agent a favor by letting him say this.

Another backhanded compliment from Dirt. Well played.

No, that was a front handed compliment. When Duffy takes the reins during the week, he’s always got a steady slew of things lined up, and they’re varied.
But Robin Yount was good at baseball, so I’m mad at him.

Actually haven’t done that to someone in years. Will do so tonight.

I just watched PTI, and they think there’s truth to this story, so maybe I’m wrong. I remembered that it was TBL reporting some basketball guys tw&&t yesterday in a comment thread, but not which thread.
