Oklahoma City 94, Orlando 108: This was payback for last week’s 28-point loss in the dust bowl. Vince Carter led six guys in double figures with 18, and Rashard Lewis nearly pulled off a triple double (17 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists). If you’re going to be near a TV Friday, 9-3 Orlando visits 9-3 Boston. First meeting since last year’s terrific playoff series. KG vs. Dwight Howard is how we want to start our weekend. Also, the Magic are considering Antonio Daniels as a stop-gap at point guard while Jameer Nelson heals.

deron-williams-and-wifeNew Jersey 85, Milwaukee 99: The Nets are 0-12, but the good news is that Devin Harris should return Saturday vs. the Knicks. It is obviously way too early to think about the 2010 draft, but let’s say the Nets finish with the worst record and win the lottery … John Wall and Devin Harris would make a fine backcourt. Move CDR to SF, keep Boone at PF, and Lopez at center … not a bad nucleus, right? Terrence Williams and Courtney Lee are good young guns off the bench. Sizzling hot rookie Brandon Jennings only scored 19 and he did turn the ball over eight times.

glen-davis-girlfriendCleveland 91, Washington 108: Did DeShawn Stevenson finally get in LeBron’s head? LBJ and the Cavs were cruising, and then Stevenson entered the game, and LeBron (34 points) got lost in the matchup, and the Wiz rallied. To cap things, LeBron injured his hand on a dunk; he isn’t expected to miss any time, though. Antwan Jamison had 31 in his first game of the season for the Wiz. For the Cavs haters, just remember – no Shaq, Varejao, or Leon Powe. Those are Cleveland’s three best post players; we’d put emerging JJ Hickson 4th.

New York 110, Indiana 103: The Knicks got their second win of the season in dramatic fashion – owning the 4th quarter on the road. Savor that phrase; you may never hear it again this season. The Pacers looked to be on their way to a blowout in the first half; Danny Granger had 30 at the break. He scored three points thereafter. We’d love to get a copy of Mike D’Antoni’s halftime speech.

Miami 90, Atlanta 105: The Hawks are now 10-2 after winning their sixth in a row. Can they possibly keep this up? What if they win 50+ games and Joe Johnson decides to stay in the ATL? The Hawks seem to own the Heat – D Wade, the 4th leading scorer in the league, only had 15.
