The JaMarcus Russell Experiment Has Finally Ended
1-liner, NFL November 19th. 2009, 12:40pmBruce Gradkowski, New Oakland Raiders QB: He’s from outside Pittsburgh, the same area that produced Hall of Famers Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Joe Namath, and Johnny Unitas. Supposedly, Gradkowski posted better high school stats than all of them. Gradkowski has not thrown a TD pass since 2006. The Cable guy has done Gradkowski no favors – Oakland hosts Cincinnati Sunday, and the Bengals have the 2nd-best defense in the league (16.3 ppg). Cincy is in the top 10 in interceptions and sacks, too. [Chronicle, Mercury News]

November 19th, 2009 at 12:48 pm
LOL what applebees is that guy working at now?
November 19th, 2009 at 12:50 pm
I am rooting for the guy. He went to HS with a Buddy of mine and I met him a few times when he was in College. Cool guy and funny as hell.
November 19th, 2009 at 12:51 pm
You mean the two time Pro Bowl quarterback who had a QB rating of 101.5 in 2002 and from 2004-2006 never dropped below 92.9?
/QB rating sucks (probably)
//Bulger was still good
///not anymore

I really want JaMarcus to go back in before the end of the season. I’m looking forward to the Oakland – Cleveland game in week 16. I was planning on seeing Russell vs Brady. That would be epic.

isnt russell al’s guy? i bet tom is doing this to get fired. he can beat women 20 years ago and break the jaw of a coach and still have a job
November 19th, 2009 at 12:55 pm
Tom Cable is doing this because he’s trying not to get fired. Once he gets fired here, he will never, ever, ever even get another interview in the NFL, with all the baggage he brings (at least not for a head coaching job). He needs to win here, and often, to try and keep this job.
Obviously, IMO.

if the coach of an 0-16 team can get a coordinator job, anyone can.
November 19th, 2009 at 1:00 pm
JaMarcus is a terrible, terrible quarterback and somebody should drive a stake through Al Davis’ undead heart.
November 19th, 2009 at 1:00 pm
when gradkowski doesnt suck as bad as jamarcus oakland is going to retire his jersey number.
November 19th, 2009 at 1:01 pm
He’s a good player! Get over it!
/Al Davis’d
November 19th, 2009 at 1:01 pm
probably?
definitely.
November 19th, 2009 at 1:02 pm
Eh. He shouldn’t even have the job he has, he doesn’t have athletic ability (the thing that actually lets you hit women and subordinates with impunity), AND the team he coached sucked. That’s one time, two times, three times a lady who is gonna be coaching tight ends in college right there.
November 19th, 2009 at 1:03 pm
It also on the same staff as Legendary Ron Turner so…
November 19th, 2009 at 1:03 pm
Ivan Maisel, you’ve been served.
November 19th, 2009 at 1:05 pm
it might be smart if al brings along half the idiots in the black hole when cable guy is fired. i imagine a broken jaw for an old geezer like davis would really creat a lot of difficulties.
November 19th, 2009 at 1:05 pm
where they still burn crosses.
Poor kid wouldn’t have been benched if he was white.
/still can’t do that line through the words thing, but I can stir up some shit.
November 19th, 2009 at 1:05 pm
I’m sorry, by “Oops Pow Surprise”?
November 19th, 2009 at 1:06 pm

yeah, by his buddy, who is not long for his job either. Cam Cameron has a job, too from 1-15.
But this guy, Cable, wasn’t qualified to be a H/C when he got the job, he’d never even been a pro coordinator, nor had he ever been successful anywhere. The trouble comes because he doesn’t have any friends that he’s coached under. Maybe Mora Jr, but that guy’s not keeping that job long either.

And they’re decapitating gays in Puerto Rico. I was told the election of Obama fixed all this.
November 19th, 2009 at 1:07 pm
Would you have preferred Big Brain on Brett do the serving?
November 19th, 2009 at 1:07 pm

November 19th, 2009 at 1:08 pm

November 19th, 2009 at 1:09 pm
Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I’m still having trouble with all this PC stuff.
November 19th, 2009 at 1:10 pm
That’s was pretty good lefty, the fact he uses the stoner kid from the Onion as his Avatar made the medicine go down a little smoother.
November 19th, 2009 at 1:10 pm
ha, he doesnt like the gays either
November 19th, 2009 at 1:11 pm
Gradkowski was good in HS, but comparing numbers from different eras doesn’t tell you much. Western PA teams were mainly 3 yards and a cloud of dust until recently.
|LOL what applebees is that guy working at now?
Morelli is actually a quarterbacks coach at a HS in the area. He’s bounced around some practice squads, but he’s probably done in the NFL. I played on the same team with him growing up. He had an amazing arm, but he couldn’t read coverages well enough to succeed at the higher levels. His dad was also a little overbearing.
November 19th, 2009 at 1:12 pm
The Seahawks O-line was completely destroyed this year by injuries. Completely. They thought Walter Jones would be back, and he will now never be back, and his replacement was immediately hurt, and one of the guards got hurt, and the center had to move to guard, because their next backup guard wasn’t good enough.
Obviously injuries are a big deal to every team, but Seattle’s season was over before it started in the front 5. And they lost two starting linebackers early, too. And also they suck.
November 19th, 2009 at 1:12 pm
I grew up in the same town as Michael Jordan and Larry Bird. That’s why I’m so good at basketball.
November 19th, 2009 at 1:12 pm
apparently now a major motion picture has upgraded the word Avatar to permanent proper noun status.
November 19th, 2009 at 1:14 pm

This doesn’t seem to be one of those sites where the same five people who comment here also comment there. I’ll have to click to learn more.

November 19th, 2009 at 1:25 pm
what i am getting blamed for now?
You said something to the effect about Abu Gharib that those soldiers were trained not to do that shit and wouldn’t/shouldn’t have done it even if ordered. I assume covering up murder would be a similar situation.
