Hearts in Columbus and all over the country are a little sadder tonight for you Chris.
The Spielman family will be forever remembered for their charity and selfless work in the Columbus area.
RIP Stefanie…

She beat the damn thing 3 different times. The first two looked like it was for good… The third was a bad sign. This time was different. She was in bad shape since football season started.
Chris moved his radio show this fall to noon instead of drive time to be home with his kids when they got home from school. The story was that Stefanie wanted to see Chris handle them on his own before she passed.

Shit, shit, shit.
I am not a religious person, by any stretch of the imagination, but tonight I will say a prayer for Chris and his family.

Stef was an amazing woman and Chris wrote the book on being a model husband and father. During Chris’ honoring at the Navy game, he wheeled her out and it was clear to everyone there that this was a joint venture. A truly sad day for the Buckeye world and the fight against cancer.
In Chris’ words: “And the third thing I told them was to honor your mother in everything you do all the time.” As a reminder, Chris wrote on a piece of paper: “All you have to do is be Madison, Stef’s daughter” and “All you have to do is be Noah, Stef’s son.” He signed it “I love you, Dad.“

Rest in Peace Stephanie.

Having children makes the significance of your own mortality very clear. It’s like somebody flips a switch and you actually think about all the “what ifs..” that previously never crossed your mind.
I hate reading stuff like this. No kid should ever lose his mom before he grows up.

My sincere condolences to the Spielman family.
Maybe since she died at such an early age this will help those in Washington rethink this whole “women don’t need mammograms until they are 50″ tripe. It would be nice to see some good come from a terrible situation.

Fuck cancer. Seriously, fuck cancer.
