scoop-jardine-and-syracuseSyracuse had the look of a Final 4-caliber team last night in destroying California 95-73 last at Madison Square Garden. Cal is supposed to be the best team in the Pac-10. Tonight, the Orange face a much more difficult test – defending champ UNC.

Other than poor free throw shooting, we can’t find a discernible weakness on the ‘Cuse. While Ohio State didn’t have the size to handle UNC’s pro-like frontline (few, if any, teams will), Syracuse has a long 2-3 zone that should be effective. The key tonight: Will North Carolina have enough outside shooting to win? We’ll take Syracuse in an upset.

CRM, Hernia and I will be on duty this weekend; Duffy will be filing dispatches from Seattle. Is anyone working at all next week?
