kellen-moore-boise-stateThe BCS had the bright idea to start a twitter account – @InsidetheBCS - perhaps in an effort to blunt the tsunami of criticism that is being rightfully heaped on the farce that is the end of the college football season. Who’s behind the account? A reader with a keen eye noticed that the first peopel to “follow” the account were … you guessed it, publicists.

Bill Hancock, the new executive director of the BCS, must have known he had no shot of handling this fool’s errand by himself, so why not farm it out? We emailed the first “follower,” Trent Duffy of HDMK, but he didn’t reply. The second follower is another publicist at HDMK, Lisa Chapman. We called Chapman and were told she “stepped out.” (Even though we’ve never met her, we are all too familiar with the drill when you don’t want to talk to someone, and we’d wager that the person we spoke with was Chapman.)

Dan Wetzel is having a blast with @insidethebcs, which is getting destroyed hourly. The problem? There is no defense for the BCS. It is the worst ending to any postseason in professional sports. The BCS doesn’t care about champions. It cares about money.
