UConn Upsets Notre Dame in Double OT, That’ll Do it For Charlie
College Football November 21st. 2009, 6:25pm
For the second year in a row the Notre Dame Fighting Irish have suffered another horrendous, inexplicable, unforgivable loss on senior day in South Bend. Last year it was a near broken Syracuse team, hanging on by a scraggly pube, that came in and managed to sneak away with a win.
Today, it was yet another Big East team known better for excellence in college hoops, the UConn Huskies.
What more can be said? Under Charlie’s watch, the Irish have lost back-to-back games to Air Force and Navy, the aforementioned abomination against the Orangemen, another loss to Navy, and today’s disaster against UConn.
In a word? Embarrassing. In another word? Relief. The Charlie Weis era is finally over.

Yeah I think Charlie fits in better in the NFL world… probably have to be a coordinator again but I could see him jumping right in if there are an abundance of head coaching jobs open next year. Although Im pretty sure the Browns wont go for the 3rd Patriots coordinator in a row

Two things stuck out at me watching that game:
1. Wholly shit Weis has gained a lot of weight. They showed that clip from his hiring press conference and it looked like two different people.
2. UConn’s coach is a fucking idiot. Playing for a 37 yard FG when you still have 30 seconds and 3 timeouts left after your kicker almost missed a 25 yarder to tie it a couple of minutes ago is pussy football and they deserved to lose. Lucky for them they were playing Notre Dame.

Uconn had to win twice- those officials are obviously catholic.
But I really didn’t think it was tasteful for the announcers to continue saying plays, calls, etc may be the last for Weis the entire 4th quarter.
