Quote of the Year Candidate: Lee Frederick
1-liner, College Basketball, ESPN November 25th. 2009, 12:55pmESPN: “Frederick is bitter — obscenely bitter — on the subject of ESPN’s push into the tournament market. He still runs two multi-team events, the Glenn Wilkes Classic in Daytona, Fla., and the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic, but neither is on TV. “F— ESPN,” he says. “Print that. F— ESPN. They think history started with them. Well, they didn’t create s—. They just have more money than God.” We should add that we’d be thrilled if the NCAA tournament went to ESPN. You’d get to see every game, instead of letting geography or CBS dictate your options. [SI]

oh, please. you can get any game you want. if you don’t want to go to that pay-per-view route, there’s this thing called sports bars. i bet even the big apple has one or two.
and who the hell is that blonde in the allstate sports video in the right gutter? my, GOD! and i’m supposed to be able to concentrate on work now?
my day is shot now. :^)

Yeah, like they wouldn’t put the Duke game on every single channel on the “ESPN Family of Networks” and put the other 3 games on 360.
/sarcasm
//probably
///a lot of people would still have to fork down money to buy the sports tier those other ESPN channels are on
November 25th, 2009 at 1:20 pm
forgot all about that.
if espn had the tournament, and duke played, espn would pull that stunt that they did a few years ago when florida state and miami played on a monday night. on bspnu (i believe) they they had six screens in one throughout the game, with constant shots of bowden, the two quarterbacks, et al, with commentary from cowturd.

given the fact i utlize that, i can’t believe i forgot that one.
that blonde in the allstate video ad has scattered my brain. wow is she HAWT!
November 25th, 2009 at 1:22 pm

CBS is fine. I really like Gumbel and Seth Davis in the studio, and I love most of the announcer pairings CBS brings to the table – Lundquist/Raft, Johnson/Elmore, Harlan/Bonner (vastly underrated), and even at 99 years old Dick Enberg still brings it.

Vitale alone doing the championship game is reason enough for me not to watch it.
By the way the arguement that with ESPN you could watch all the games is complete shit. Like someone stated above you can go to a bar, or even easier buy a hdmi cable and hook your computer to your tv.
Also, if ESPN lands that package all that means is that your cable bill will go up because ESPN will increase their rates to adjust to the cost.
November 25th, 2009 at 2:22 pm
Yeah, because going to a bar is much easier than watching the shit at home on your own tv.
//for rizzle!!!
//the anti ESPN sentiment on here sometimes reaches the level of the absurd.

If you’re talking about the girl in the wheelchair, her name is Ashley Rawie. She’s paralyzed from the chest down, after being thrown from her Jeep and breaking her neck back in January, 2006.
Happy Thanksgiving, and always remember to wear your searbelts.

no. this is some sports anchor chick doing sports video highlights sponsored by allstate. it’s basically an allstate ad with sports highlights sprinkled in.
think jenn brown with bleached blonde hair and ashley russell’s, um, features.
