dez-bryant-oklahoma-stateFriday, we attempted to expose the publicists behind the laughable twitter account, @InsidetheBCS. Not surprisingly, they never got back to us. The next day, the BCS announced that it hired Ari Fleischer’s firm to handle all the criticism about the archaic bowl system. Hmmm. Guess who has a longtime, cozy relationship with Fleischer’s firm? The guys we mentioned Friday.

We’re close, people. Give it a few more years and we’ll have a playoff. Power in numbers. The internet. It’ll happen. We actually have faith that once ESPN gets its paws on the system, it’ll force change. It is absolutely necessary:

Does the No. 12 team with losses to its two toughest opponents (both at home) and zero victories against any team ranked 40th or higher in the BCS Standings really create a more “exciting and competitive” matchup than a No. 6 team with zero losses, a victory against No. 8 in the BCS Standings and the highest scoring offense in the country?

Only if it means keeping $4.5 million in the family rather than handing it over to the uninvited guest, which is why the Fiesta Bowl is likely to choose Oklahoma State from the Big 12 over Boise State for this year’s game – if both win out.

That’ll do it for us today. We’ll try to pop on later to talk about the Maui final. Make sure to see “The Road” this weekend – there will be a post about it Monday or Tuesday.
