Rod Langway, Recognize Your Daughter Already
Athlete spawn, Former Athletes November 27th. 2009, 11:15am
Growing up in the DC area, Rod Langway was an iconic hockey figure. We’ll never forget a terribly annoying girl in middle school carrying a torch – practically daily – for the helmet-less defenseman on the Washington Capitals who was nicknamed, “Secretary of Defense.” He’s in the hockey HOF. He’s also got a daughter who is an accomplished high school soccer player in Maryland …and he hasn’t spoken to her since she was three. He seems to pin blame on her mother, but why didn’t he talk to his daughter when she showed up at a book signing? Pretty fantastic read. [Wash Post]

Way to take it out on your kids, asshole. I’m sure that 400 bucks a month changed her life for the better, too.
I guess the best/worst part was when he decided to involve himself in the name change when the wacky mom was marrying some other dude. Or maybe when he made her wait until he was through signing 5 bucks a pop autographs to talk to her after she showed up.
Asshole.
