Charles Barkley vs. Dwight Howard
1-liner, NBA November 29th. 2009, 9:00amCharles Barkley vs. Dwight Howard: “He’s got to make the free throws, he’s got to dominate and he’s still not making shots. He hasn’t gotten better offensively. He’s about 50 percent of where he could be. He could be one of the most dominate big guys ever, but he has not gotten better offensively.” That was Barkley prior to the Atlanta-Orlando game. Howard finished that game with 22 points, 17 rebounds, and four blocks. Howard had 25-20 last night against Milwaukee. And uh, Charles … Dwight needs the ball to dominate. He’s taken single-digit shots in seven games this year. That’s on Stan Van Gundy. [Orlando Sentinel]

Doesn’t mean Chuck isn’t right. Why would his teammates feed him (especially in the 4th qtr) if he’s just gonna brick a line drive hook, or clang his free throws? D-Ho needs to spend summers working with Dream instead of on commercial sets.

Still his free throw shooting is embarrassing. 56% terrible. You can make 70% with a granny shot, anyone can. I practiced it for 2 hours and the next day I was shooting around 70%. Swallow you pride. When you are taking 10 FT’s a game (like he is) then you leaving a point and a half on the court every time. You also become a liability in late games situations.
