Kevin Love, apparently, has been going out with this UCLA “spirit squad” member (that means cheerleader, right?) for over a year now. Over the holiday weekend, Gary Parrish of CBS Sports was in SoCal for the 76 Classic and tweeted that he was told Love was dating her. Love has good taste – Elise has already been profiled by SI.com as “cheerleader of the week.” She’s still a Bruin, majoring in Economics. Very impressive. Which Minnesota Timberwolf has a more fetching girlfriend, Love or Wayne Ellington? I was at the Butler/UCLA game in Anaheim, and whenever the “Spirit squad” took the court, the place went dead silent. afterwords, pure applause. Can’t make this stuff up. And these girls are just as hot in person… but also tiny

cowherd made a point that they need to realize who they are: a college thats not going to be over backwards and ease up academic standards to become a national championship contender every year. a good year for them is 9 wins and that should be that. and if they did decide to acknowledge that, weis shouldnt be fired.

TBL, I would be worried that this could be Les Miles to Michigan all over again. Where in essence, Les was heading to Ann Arbor, but the leaked rumors ultimately screwed up everything before a bowl game. Granted, Stoops isn’t playing for a National Title, but he’s going to have to make up his mind sooner rather than later now

We get it, guys. No one here is saying ND is an elite football team. They haven’t been since Lou Holtz left.
But it’s a prestigious job and always will be. It’s just like the Yankees. They were crap throughout the 80s, a laughable team. But when the Yanks were back, it was the biggest story in sports. Notre Dame is the same way whether you like it or not.
You’ll still be hearing about them years from now when you’re shitting into a ziplock bag that hangs over your head.

TBL – I despise ND, but I don’t disagree that it’s a big time job/story. I just don’t see the need to follow it so closely. It deserves attention, sure, but no story on Bowden today? Come on. He’s one of the top coaches of all-time. Not an (currently) irrelevant program trying to find a new coach after multiple years of being over-hyped.

The whole Bowden “saga” is hilarious. Now I respect Bowden for his run of dominance (wasn’t it like 17-straight seasons with a top-4 finish OMG ?) … but he’s been nothing more than a figurehead for the past decade at least. Was he really doing that much, except allowing other coaches to crush them in recruiting? Is being some aging symbol of past glory that tough on his schedule? What exactly could he have done in one more year that would make his life that much better or worse? I fucking HATE old fuckers that hang on too long in all areas.
