Yardwork: Joba Fever!
Uncategorized August 29th. 2007, 10:08am
Chicago 5, Milwaukee 3: Can we put the Brewers in a body bag and be done with them? Please? If not the entire team, then at least the bullpen. Scott Linebrink – the guy they traded for to fortify the pen – got shelled in the seventh and committed an error, to boot. Milwaukee’s now in third, 2.5 back of the Cubs.
Philadelphia 4, New York 2, 10 innings: There is fear in flushing. Tom Glavine was masterful for seven innings, and then the bullpen blew it in the eighth. Ryan Howard won it in the 10th with a two-run walkoff jack off of steroid fiend Guillermo Mota. The wife-beating, reporter-threatening douche who shall not be named got the win.
New York 5, Boston 3: Finally, we got to see Joba in a clutch spot, and the rookie came through. Then Rivera got the save, and the Yankees snapped out of a mini-funk. Johnny Damon’s two-run poke in the seventh that barely reached the right field porch was the difference. Also, another NY phenom, Ian Kennedy, is starting this weekend in place of Mike Mussina.
St. Louis 7, Houston 0: Rick Ankiel had three hits and Chris Duncan knocked in four runs as the Cardinals surged into second place in the NL Central.
Seattle 6, Anaheim 10: Despite spotting the Mariners a 5-0 lead (blame Ervin Santana), the Angels roared back on the road to deal the Mariners a fourth straight defeat. No rest for the weary – the M’s travel to Cleveland for a makeup game tonight, and then head to Toronto for the weekend. The end is near.

“walkoff jack off of steroid fiend Guillermo Mota”
Golly, this site sure has become x-rated of late.

Sometimes it’s good to be a team that the national media cares about…if it had been the Cubs making the same collapse the Brewers did we’d have to hear for weeks all the same old bitching from their fanbase

BTW- I will co-sign Joba Chamberlain. I had heard the hype, and seen some performances. What he did last night was pretty special though. Yes, he walked a guy after getting him 1-2. And then Mike Lowell got a decent hit. But the spots he was hitting with his 99mph fastball were impeccable. And the followup with a biting 88mph sinker/curve was devastating. And thats coming from a Sox game. With that said, he HAS only pitched like 10 innings. So ’savior’ is a tough call. But he has Future Closer written all over him.

What a horrible loss for the Mariners. How they rebound from that in this Cleveland series will determine whether or not they make the playoffs, methinks.
And yes, Milwaukee is FINISHED.

As a Sox fan, watching Joba last night I felt like Ron Burgandy in Anchorman when his dog ate the entire wheel of cheese, I wasnt even mad I was just impressed.

still not sold on Joba until i see the curve or changeup that he supposedly has … the fastball and slider are wicked, but those two aren’t enough to carry him as a starter
good luck with Farnsworth tonight in his place … lol

Milwaukee has been finished since the All-Star Break they just were too stubborn to admit it 19 games where they blown a lead of 3 runs or better teams that win the division do not gag up games on that scale. It was fun while it lasted but thank god that the Badgers start playing football this Saturday.

Red Sox-when are your bats going to wake up for Matsusaka? !! You wankers barely farted out three runs. Bring the juice when the pitches. They’ve cost the guy 3-4 games already. Hopefully, they will really rough up Clemens.
