Chicago 5, Milwaukee 3: Can we put the Brewers in a body bag and be done with them? Please? If not the entire team, then at least the bullpen. Scott Linebrink – the guy they traded for to fortify the pen – got shelled in the seventh and committed an error, to boot. Milwaukee’s now in third, 2.5 back of the Cubs.

Philadelphia 4, New York 2, 10 innings: There is fear in flushing. Tom Glavine was masterful for seven innings, and then the bullpen blew it in the eighth. Ryan Howard won it in the 10th with a two-run walkoff jack off of steroid fiend Guillermo Mota. The wife-beating, reporter-threatening douche who shall not be named got the win.

New York 5, Boston 3: Finally, we got to see Joba in a clutch spot, and the rookie came through. Then Rivera got the save, and the Yankees snapped out of a mini-funk. Johnny Damon’s two-run poke in the seventh that barely reached the right field porch was the difference. Also, another NY phenom, Ian Kennedy, is starting this weekend in place of Mike Mussina.

St. Louis 7, Houston 0: Rick Ankiel had three hits and Chris Duncan knocked in four runs as the Cardinals surged into second place in the NL Central.

Seattle 6, Anaheim 10: Despite spotting the Mariners a 5-0 lead (blame Ervin Santana), the Angels roared back on the road to deal the Mariners a fourth straight defeat. No rest for the weary – the M’s travel to Cleveland for a makeup game tonight, and then head to Toronto for the weekend. The end is near.
