Worse Start to the Season: Olbermann or the Saints?
Uncategorized September 6th. 2007, 11:43pmSo far, there’s one negative vote for Keith Olbermann’s halftime … whatever it is. We’re pulling for the guy because he’s interesting (not Bryant McKinnie-eat-out-a-stripper/hooker interesting, but still). But yes. This was bad. So that’s two votes for a terrible opener. Making fun of yourself on the net/radio = cool; on TV, not so much.
About as awful as the Saints performance. Did Drew Brees leave his arm in the preseason? Embarrassing. Sean Payton needs a deep threat, STAT. And how slow did Deuce look?

Olbermann got old. He also doesn’t look like he wants to be there at all.
As AA pointed out in that post, Collinsworth is fucking awesome.

Why is Olberman doing the same segment as on his show? I want something new.
Reggie Bush didn’t look like the second coming of Gale Sayers at all.

Brutal, brutal game. Salisbury and Wingo are virtually blowing Bob Sanders right now. Have to say that Bush was by far the biggest disappointment in this game. He saw way too many snaps–it was obvious he was ineffective in the first half, and Duce was actually making yards.

And Olbermann wonders why O’Reilly does circles around him in the ratings.

I love Keith, but he is no closer to being in the NFL than you or I.

That “worst person” shtick is sooooo worn out. Why even bother bringing it to the broadcast? At least he admitted he was a dumbass for his Vick thing the other day!
He REEAAAALY needs Dan Patrick to be funny, IMO. Actually, they both need each other… His show was in a completely different league for that hour they were together.

NBC would be better off with Kanye and 50 on the panel than Olbermann and Tiki.

Maybe I just don’t get Olbermann because it’s above my marginal intellect. Same with the 99.5% of the viewing audience that doesn’t watch his MSNBC show.

“Saints need a deep threat?” They have one or two already. But the Colts coverage meant that throwing deep would have meant an interception/incompletion. That’s what the Tampa 2 does, watch some football TBL. That’s like saying Jason David should be a good man-to-man cover corner.

Olberman has been below average IMO, and I watch “Countdown.” But you’re right we need somebody like Bill-O instead. He could just make up sh*t about him for five minutes and hope nobody will fact-check. Hell, that’s what he does on his show.

At the very least Olbermann’s picking of himself makes it easier for NBC to later say “hey, these are all in good fun” if someone gets rubbed the wrong way.

Hey NBC! Just wanna tell you there is NO WAY I will watch your show if I have to put up with both Olbermann and Tiki at the same time. They have to be the two most smug, egotistical people on TV.
