That’ll Be All for Jimmy on MNF
Uncategorized October 17th. 2007, 12:22pm
That was quick. Reacting with the swiftness of Devin Hester, ESPN producers have made the decision that Jimmy Kimmel is persona non grata from Monday Night Football following his hilarious comments about Joe Theismann during the Giants/Falcons snoozer. The comments, according to a MNF producer, were “classless and disappointing. It was cheap. The more he went on, the worse he got.” Sure they were, Mr. Producer, but they were funny. And admit it – probably accurate.
Theismann, sticking to his ‘MNF is the TK show’ mantra, told Richard Sandomir that he heard the comments, but was slightly more interested in a CSI: Miami plot twist. He must have been wondering if the Dolphins will call him now that Trent Green’s back.
Also, we’re going to throw in the photo of Manny picking his nose here, only because it’s probably not worth a full post.

Man I hope Jimmy Kimmel kills ESPN on his late night show. Hey TBL if this happens you should post it. Because I dont think any1 actually watches Kimmel’s show.

I’m pretty sure that nobody at the WWL has a sense a humor, including the ones that are trying to be funny.

That was cheap. Good move by ESPN.

A bit hypocritical is it not? They know what Kimmel is all about, if they didn’t want him taking shots and making some people feel uneasy they probably shouldn’t have put him up in the booth.

It’s really depressing to see yet another example of people overreacting to something innocent/funny/interesting. Sigh.

You know what, ESPN? You wouldn’t have any problems with “out of control” guests in the booths if YOU STOPPED FUCKING INVITING PEOPLE WHO DON’T BELONG IN THE BOOTH IN THE BOOTH!!!!!!!!!
And I’m sure he’s getting a stern lecturing from his Disney bosses on how you don’t bite the hand that feeds you. So I get the feeling that the feud is dead, and that includes any possible references on his program. They’d rather deny the existence of the problem than have him further publicize it.

Wicked lame move. That segment with Kimmel was some of the funniest TV I watched all weekend. Sounds like someone at the four-letter still has a hard-on for Joey.

What’s most funny is that this was supposed to be one of those gigs where ABC/ESPN brings in a ABC/ESPN guy to a ESPN/ABC show to pump up all things ABC/ESPN (his late night show, the View, Regis, etc).
Why would the MNF Producers bother to even comment on something like this? Why DEFEND Theismann?

ESPN thinks Jimmy Kimmel’s discussion was “classless and disappointing.”
I think talking about “Desperate Housewives” during a football game is “classless and disappointing.”
Can we please have some kind of meeting of the minds here?

Kimmel was very entertaining the other night….definitely one of the better guests to come in, but just like my man Chris Rock says about OJ….( I don’t he should have killed her, but I understand….)…….I think it’s too bad Kimmel won’t be back, but I understand.

Stephen Colbert will be filling Kimmel’s role next week.

ESPN just needs to eliminate Korheiser from the booth. Go with Jaws and Tirico. Two man booths are always the best and I dont know why ESPN continues to try to make it about something else. Guess what ESPN doucheholes we are here for the football. Troy Aikman and Joe Buck are not making me laugh during the whole football game on Fox but they are easily the best booth in Football.

Replace TK with Vermeil
…and if need be, Tirico with Nessler

I can’t believe you couldn’t get a whole post out of a picture of Manny picking his nose. I thought this was an East Coast blog?

Actually, it was funny and entertaining. God knows you can’t have an entertaing guest in the booth. It’s okay to put someone in the booth as long as they whore for Disney.

““classless and disappointing. It was cheap. The more he went on, the worse he got.€”
That’s pretty much what Korny does.
I would have loved it if Kimmel just started digging for nostril nuggets.
THE THING THAT WOULDN’T LEAVE..
“So Tony, what’s with that little bit of hair that you swirl up on top, can I borrow your cell phone, I have to call some hookers for later. You have them on speed dial right?”

His girlfriend is ugly as hell.

His girlfriend is ugly as hell. Joe T pulled some serious tail in his day.

Joe T must be smiling right now.
Tony K? Not so much

Jimmy Kimmel is probably one of the five least funny individuals on the planet. Thank goodness we’ll never have to see/hear his ass in the booth ever again.

A case of corporate synergy backfiring. ESPN and Kimmel both deserve what they got.
BTW, how does this affect ANYTHING that happens during the game? Oh wait, I forgot: ESPN is all about Entertainment. Not Sports.
