The Gays Think Phil Jackson is Funny
Uncategorized November 15th. 2007, 9:59am
Come on people, you know this Phil Jackson quote is hilarious: “We call this a ‘Brokeback Mountain’ game because there’s so much penetration and kick-outs,” Jackson said. “It was one of those games.”
Mr. Zen uttered this after the Lakers were drilled by San Antonio the other night. When you listen to the video clip, take note of the media laughter. We laughed out loud, too. Even the gays think it’s funny! Pay no attention to GLAAD, Phil. They never went after Shav Randolph during the whole Amaechi coming out party.

These are the exact kind of harmless, humorous comments that should be able to be made without reprimand. He clearly wasn’t insulting anyone, he just made a joke. Had it been more along the lines of, “This was a ‘Brokeback Mountain’ game because we kept getting our fudge packed by those fucking f****t refs,” it would be worthy or reprimand, though I would have probably still laughed.

Phil Jackson is a Brokeback Mountain coach because he’s a real pain in the ass.

Kobe Bryant is a Brokeback Mountain player because he’s always effing his franchise in the ass.
And Jim Gray is a bottom.

The potential for this joke to blossom into a mainstay in the responses is through the roof. It could take on a Cedric Benson level of hilarity.

The think that doesn’t make sense about this “uproar” is that the comment isn’t derogatory towards homosexuals. All he said was that there was a lot of penetration. All sex, gay, straight, anal, oral, etc involves penetration. Would people care if he said, “We call this a ‘Debbie Does Dallas’ game because there’s so much penetration and kick-outs?â€

I’d like to know how much time was left in the game when Jackson started trying to think of jokes to use in his press conference, and how many he rejected before settling on that one midway through the fourth quarter. Or maybe he wrote it two years ago but never had a chance to use it until now. I can’t wait until he uses his “Blair Witch Project” bit.

I agree with the above sentiment. If he had said we call this the “Rocket Man game, because we looked like faggots, and I hate gays” I could understand any uproar.

His first choice was “We call this a Peter North game, because the Spurs shot an enormous load on us.”

“We call this the George Micheal game. Because we were just f$$$ed in the bushes in a park. And then the Spurs eventually arrested us.”

Phil Jackson is still coaching? Didn’t know that.
He probably got the Brokeback reference because of his incredibly gay goatee.

funniest thing about this whole situation was Sean Salisbary was asked about it and he said 2 or 3 times, “I haven’t seen the movie, so I have no clue what that even means.”
He sure wanted to make a point of claiming he didn’t see the movie. The video might still be up on ESPN, well worth the laughs.

why does the gay and lesbian get involved and call this an attack on gays? “cheap gay jokes?” dipshits, it was a penetration, not a gay joke. men penetrate women, too.
phil didn’t say, “We call this a Brokeback Mountain game because we played like a bunch of fags.” what if he said, “We call this a 9 1/2 Weeks game because there’s so much penetration.”?
come up for some air, gay people.

Lozo, it seems the

What’s more inappropriate, making that joke (which wasn’t inappropriate at all) or asking a football analyst with a history of sexual harassment about the inappropriateness of the joke?

Wow a Brokeback Mountain joke. Did I just stumble into 2005?

Gonzo, don’t get your info from Norman. get it from me.

The joke was stupid and lowbrow. It doesn’t even make sense given that “Brokeback Mountain” depicts no penetration. It would have made more sense for him to say, “This game featured so much penetration, it was pornographic,” or to have referenced “Deep Throat” or “Debbie Does Dallas.” Jackson’s line is low on the offensiveness scale, but it really is a cheap joke at the expense of gays. He could have referenced any movie with sex scenes, but he singled out the one mainstream movie with a male-on-male sex scene. Does it mean that Jackson hates gays? I sincerely doubt it, but it was a lame joke nonetheless.
