UPDATE: A reader with the memory of an elephant remembers that the origin of ‘giving him the business’ dates back to 1986 during a Jets-Bills game when Marty Lyons went after Jim Kelly.

I’m pretty sure an NFL Ref said the same thing a few years back. There is no better Ref than Eddie Guns.

I remember an NFL ref saying it as well. ID don’t remember any of the details, but it was a priceless call.

This is so OLD. It was done more than 20 years ago by referee Ben Dreith in an NFL game.

So I get no credit for at least mentioning it happened before. Ssshhhhh, the standards you have to live up to around here. You just can’t get away with saying it happened before, you actually have to provide evidence. This is just ridiculous!
