Tebow (Yawn) Wins (Yawn) Heisman
Uncategorized December 10th. 2007, 12:52pm
Didn’t watch the Heisman presentation Saturday, and we must say, we heard exactly nobody talking about it Sunday. There were even fewer emails about it. Tim Tebow became the first sophomore to capture the award, and Kirk Herbstreit was overheard asking the Gators sophomore if he could slide him the exclusive when he’s ready to jump to the NFL.
That contest we had last week where we asked everyone to pick the Top 5 finishers, in order resulted in … one correct answer. Nicely done, Sean John. Drop us an email. The final order was Tebow, McFadden, Colt Brennan, Chase Daniel, and Dennis Dixon. Central Florida’s Kevin Smith finished eighth and nabbed three first-place votes. We’d love to see a ballot breakdown and find out who those three brave souls are, but we’re not holding our breath. Meaningless bowl games don’t start for another 10 days.

Even if Herbstreit had the exclusive…who is going to give it any cred. Since the LSU debacle his “souces close to the situation” have left Herbie looking like a smuck!

It seems like a lot of people don’t think Tebow is going to make a very good pro. Not sure why that is.

I think the stiff arm trophy has taken a hit in recent years. When you have to justify giving it to a guy it becomes meaningless. When they gave it to Troy Smith it was a best guy on the best team trophy. This year it was an annual excellence trophy. Sometimes it is a body of work trophy… if you have to make excuses for the winner the award is just meaningless.

how much ass is tebow giving up because of christianity? if he was so inclined, he could just be plowing through bitches.

I still find it quite ironic that something this site spent over 4 months debating and talking about has now become boring to said site.

I’m just surprised how close behind McFadden was, considering he might as well have not suited up for pretty much the first 75% of the season.

I agree cbh49er. TBL is acting like they don’t care all of a sudden.

Why wont Tebow be a good pro?
Lets see-
He doenst play in a pro-style offense
He lacks any semblance of a strong arm
He’s going to be a crash test dummy by the time his senior year is over with all the hits he takes
He’s left handed which causes Offensive co-ordinaters in the NFL to cringe knowing that a Right tackle has to protect the QB’s blind side.
He can be a productive Craig Krenzel/Gus Frerotte however.

has any QB out of florida done well in the pros?
NOPE

They used to say that about Duke PGs but Bobby Hurley and Wojo put that myth to bed!!!

Irish:
Let’s be fair here. Wuerfel, Jesse Palmer, Shane Matthews, Rex Grossman, were all Spurrier system QB’s. Thats why they failed in the pros.
Tebow is an Urban Meyer guy like Josh Harris (BGSU) and Alex Smith. Oh wait, Irishmafia your point is proven.

Kirk Herbstreit just reported that sources have told him that Matt Leinart is definitely coming out after his junior year.
Also, Beano Cook is pretty sure that Tim Tebow would have won “eight or nine” Heisman trophies if he had gone to Notre Dame.

Just saw that Tebow and Florida open next season at home against, HAWAII!!
Was anyone aware of this?
