Fun with Games: The Mitchell Investigation Draft!
Uncategorized December 12th. 2007, 11:40am
With the Mitchell Investigation bomb expected to be dropped in 24 hours, here’s a fun little game that should keep you sufficiently entertained until the news hits: the Mitchell Investigation draft! Our Baseball Friend proposed the idea to us, and here’s how it works: have a draft of players you think will be named in the report. The rules are simple: anyone who has been suspended by MLB is not eligible. Everyone else is fair game. For those still confused: Jose Guillen and Jay Gibbons cannot be drafted; Barry Bonds can. Most names in the report tied to PEDs wins!
If we were in the draft and had first pick, obviously we’d go Bonds. Second? Hmmmm.
Mitchell to announce results of roid probe at 2 p.m. Thursday (ESPN)

Pujols is a waste of a pick, especially at 8 … probably a good idea to stick with NY Mets and the rest of the NL East, since most of the legwork supposedly centers around that clubhouse attendant

1st Round Lock: Bonds
2nd Round: Tejada
3rd: Clemens
Sleeper Picks: Frank Thomas and Kevin Brown
Draft Bust: Pujols*
*He is a bust because some guys might take a chance on him, but I think he will come out clean.

Pudge Rodriguez would be an easy first round pick.
Later rounds: Dante Bichette, Carl Everett, Luis Gonzalez
If David Eckstein is mentioned anywhere, I think Ken Tremendous may have a stroke from laughing so hard.

Commissioner, I would like trade my entire draft (ala Mike Ditka and Grassman) for the rights to blame Bud Selig and George Walker Bush.

My Pick: Manny Rameriez

Hey all…
I’ll be sending TBL final results later tonight. Bonds did, in fact, go first overall. I took McGwire and Jason Giambi at 2-3. Full report with explanation coming soon…

This is an in-house baseball investigation. I don’t think they are going to do anything to crumble the sport, like name Cal Ripken or Arod. There would be a big burden of proof on those two guys. It will be a lot of mediocre to above average players, think entire WS Padres team, Joyner, Cammineti, Greg Vaughn, etc.
