Ballin’: Twenty Games in, Bulls Still Struggling

Nice analysis of the season’s first 20 games. If at any point today you’re struggling to get onto the site, try the URL WITHOUT www. The server change is usually something people wait until the weekend to do, but we’re impatient. So some comments today may be lost.
Chicago 102, Indiana 117: Troy Murphy showed some fight last night! We finally have a reason to like the Pacers that doesn’t involve guns. Murphy mixed it up with Tyrus Thomas of the Bulls and got ejected. Then the Pacers exploded in the third quarter and buried the Bulls. Tinsley had 18 points and eight assists and Kareem Rush (!) came off the bench to score 22 points.
Dallas 76, Toronto 92: How can the Mavs go into NY, handle the Knicks with ease, then travel to Toronto and get waxed in a completely non-competitive game? Not counting Dirk, JT and Howard, this team shot a humiliating 9-for-35. The Raptors got 16-12 from Kris Humphries (another great move by Colangelo last year) and improved to 13-10. We didn’t get to the TJ Ford injury yesterday (blasted server!), but the video is horrific. Good think he’s out of the hospital and doing fine.
Seattle 117, New York 110: Now that one’s bad. When you let one of the worst teams in the NBA shoot 58 percent, you simply are not trying defensively. Durant (at this point, he’s the ROY LOCK) led six players in double figures with 30 points as the Sonics took home a rare non-Friday victory. (On the road, too!) Zach Randolph (due for an explosion?) had 27-16 and Jamal Crawford added 29. Maybe this team misses … wait for it … Marbury? Nah.
Orlando 86, Milwaukee 100: Hello, three game losing streak. And what’s weak about this for the Magic is that it came against a team that had lost four in a row. Not that we’d pin the skid on one person, but Jameer Nelson is just 9-for-26 during the streak, and he had six turnovers last night. Michael Redd had 27 and Yi went for 18.
Utah 98, Phoenix 103: Steve Nash had 29 points and 11 assists – most of it accomplished after taking an elbow from Boozer that knocked out the cap on his chipped tooth – sending the Jazz to their fifth loss in a row. Paul Millsap started for injured Memhet Okur and went for 20-13.

Conseco Fieldhouse was like going to Market Square Arena in the late 80’s.
Maybe 5000 in attendance last night. A promotion had put white bags on all the seats, it looked like it snowed inside the arena it was so empty.
Tinsley got a so-so response, but he played well.

My Knicks are pathetic. It was fun watching Durant though. He’s the real deal.
