Ballin’: Magic, Knicks Lose Again
NBA December 18th. 2007, 10:21am
Indiana 119, New York 92: And it wasn’t even that close! When we can type “Mike Dunleavy went off” without laughing, you know the opponent has problems. Dude had 22 points in the third quarter and finished with a career-high 36. We maintain the Knicks can make a run, but damn it’s hard to defend after this atrocity. They simply chose not to play defense in the second half. Maybe Isiah called someone a sunt during his tirade after the game! Why be a Knicks fan? A damn fine question, indeed.
Phoenix 100, San Antonio 95: Real nice road win for the Suns, but Tony Parker didn’t play again (ankle). Oddly, neither Nash nor Amare were particularly offensive tonight (the latter did make two clutch free throws in the final minute, but was limited all night due to foul trouble), but old man Grant Hill scored 22 points and Leandro Barbosa added 18. Tim Duncan scored 36 points and collected 17 rebounds. Manu struggled a bit (6-for-19), and was stripped of the ball by Boris Diaw on a key possession with less than 30 seconds to play. Bruce Bowen didn’t score a point in 35 minutes.
Dallas 111, Orlando 108: About time the Mavs get a good win! Dirk had 31 and 11, besting Dwight Howard’s 22-13. Weird shot breakdown: Howard 16, Jameer Nelson 13, Keith Bogans 10. Bogans did hit what appeared to be a game-tying three with less than five seconds left, but his toe was on the line. SVG says defense is the problem, but if we’re coaching, Howard is getting 20 shots a game. Both teams are 17-9 (but the Magic have lost five of six and no longer have the 2nd best record in the East).
Cleveland 104, Milwaukee 99, 2 OT: LeBron played 51 minutes and scored 31 points while only taking 25 shots. Michael Redd played 55 minutes, scored 22 points, had nine assists and seven rebounds. Weird to see the Cavs winning a game in which they shoot 3-for-20 from three, even if they were at home.
Atlanta 116, Utah 111: Nice little upset for the Hawks, a team we wish were on TV more. Without Josh Childress, Acie Law, and Speedy, and even though Carlos Boozer scored 39 points, the Hawks held on at home thanks to 17 points and 14 assists from Anthony Johnson. The Jazz aren’t nearly as strong as they were last year; Utah has dropped six in a row on the road and is just 14-12.

so yes TBL the magic are on a losing streak, but that was a great game last night against the mavs. dwight howard needs more looks and hedo turkolou is having a great year.all they need is a top notch 2 guard and have bogans and dooling coming off the bench.
they still are the surprise of the year along with the New Orleans Hornets.

the cavs didn’t turn the ball over for a 33 minute stretch last night…that’ll help you avoid a blowout when you can’t shoot.

Are we allowed to use the term “Sunt” on here now? That was the most cringe inducing video I think I’d ever seen…almost had to turn it off halfway through

So are the Knicks still going to make the playoffs?

The Magic will fade. No change they keep this up. Would be surprised if they won 50 games.
Knicks and the playoffs? Hey, i’ve got to stick with my pick … but realistically, it looks very, very dim. All they have going for them is that they play in the East.

Man, the Knicks suck. It’s time for Mr. Thomas to go…he’s lost the team, and will only continue to throw them under the bus.

TBL i am going to make you regret those words you just said about the magic, the east is dwights now.name me on person who can match up with him one on one, i didnt think so. Moses Malone numbers TBL, history in the making.
i cant wait till the magic face your beloved celtics again and howard kills garnett again, thats right again just like the first matchup
dwight howard for MVP, hate it or love it TBL

the cavs may not have *officially* turned the ball over, but all the off balance leaners and 28 foot threes with 1 second on the shot clock might as well be called TOs. cavs played horrible last night against one of the worst teams in the east, but at least they won.

That was great defense on the part of Zac Randolph last night when he turned his back on Murphey to jaw with the official.
If your letting Mike Dunleavy score 22 in a game, let alone in a quarter, you’ve got some serious issues.
Pacers are one game over .500 and the sixth seed, you gotta love the Eastern Conference.

It’s quite funny to see the Magic needing another player at the 2 Spot. Hey guys, you paid a player 120 mil ! They are crippled salary cap-wise ! They are stuck for the next few years, and Dwight Howard will be a better version of the good Garnett years in Minny, because he’s in the Eastern, and because his supporting cast is a bit better. But the limits they have now, they’ll have them for the next few years.

irish, why do you have to talk so much trash? The Celtics are 20-2 and you are on here ragging on them in defense of your Magic? Gimme a break.
I can see why you want to hang your hat on that win against Boston though. You sure don’t want to talk about losses to Atlanta, Miwaukee or Memphis and you surely don’t want to talk about the 0-5 record against all the other elite teams you have played (Phoenix, Dallas, San Antonio and Detroit).
The Magic are 17-9, it is no big surprise. Relax.

Don’t know if you’ll even read this, TBL, but thanks for putting the winners in front, regardless of home vs. away. It means so much.
