Mike Lupica’s Tremendous Ego
ESPN, Video December 22nd. 2007, 4:46pmFinally! Thanks to the assistance of many readers, we’re able to use TiVo to go! This should mean more videos from us in 2008. Here’s one we saved from earlier this year, and it occurred on the Sports Reporters. Remember how Jason Whitlock told us last year in a memorable interview that Mike Lupica effectively runs the show, and decides everything (who stays, who goes, subject matter, etc)? About 45 seconds in, you’ll see what he was talking about. Sure, everyone on the set is laughing, but if that’s not nervous laughter, we don’t know what is.

John Saunder’s face is priceless the exact moment when Lupica says “If you’re wondering whether he’s going to invite you back here, that’s not how it works around here.”
hahahah.

Shouldn’t Lupica be off somewhere with Lucy puling the ball away from him at the last second?

Three no nothings discussing college football. That’s funny.

What a tremendous tool! This is why us on the West Coast perceive an East Coast bias by AHoles like Lupica who get their soapbox to stand on…

Lupica needs that soapbox to stand on, being about 5′2″
Him & Mitch Albom both are midget-sized and think their shit doesn’t stink.
I remember after the passing of Dick Schaap, they gave that minuscule insect Lupica a show on Monday nights and eventually ‘The Sports Reporters 2′ on Thursday nights – both failed miserably with him as the lead host, so now he’s relegated to sniping at people one chair aside from his desired spot on the show.

isn’t lupica’s brother-in-law the “valerio” behind “valerio productions,” the company that produces “the sports reporters?”
does anyone remembe the old “sportswriters on tv” on the old sports channel? that was classic. and it was an hour with a bunch of old dudes smoking cigars at a poker table.

Lupica definitely has the Short Man Syndrome. Bark louder and more often to make up for your lack of bite.
I thought Mitch Albom grew a vagina and only writes books for the Oprah audience now?

Albom occasionally appears on ‘The Sports Reporters’ when he’s not writing bogus sports columns for the Detroit Free Press or putting people to sleep on his radio show.

A megalomaniacal sportswriter? Is there any other kind? Lupica’s just another schnook hack posing as a TV star. A pox on all those putzes. Bring me a barf bag……….

I recall the Whitlock show on Sports Reporters (the one that got him canned). You should have seen Lupica and Albom. They’re aghast and insulted that Whitlock dared — DARED! — to say that sports was entertainment and not that serious.

Try living in NY and reading Lupica daily about how much he hates the Knicks, Dolan, Isiah, juice heads and the Yankees. he hasn’t written about anything else in 4 years.
