Boston 110, Los Angeles Lakers 91 - Guess we won’t hear anymore talk about waiting for the Celtics to go West - four games in five days, all wins. This one wasn’t ever close, but it was chippy - four techs on the Celtics, three on the Lakers (including one Lamar Odom tackle of Ray Allen that you’ve surely seen). The short-shorts are apparently some kind of story, but sadly, they will overshadow a Boston beatdown in which Tony Allen started at point for Rajon Rondo. Surprised there hasn’t been more talk about 70 wins.

Portland 97, Philadelphia 72 - Everybody has a friend who couldn’t close a window. No game when it counts. He’d have no place on the Blazers, who buried the 76ers 35-9 in the fourth quarter to lock up their 13th victory in a row. Even Josh McRoberts scored four points! The last time he played was Dec. 2 … interestingly, that was the last time Portland lost. Long ago, we predicted a loss in Utah tonight.

Chicago 100, New York 83 - No Jamal Crawford, no shot. The Bulls are 2-0 since Jim Boylan officially became the interim coach … if you count wins over cellar-dwellers like the Bucks and Knicks.

Golden State 105, Denver 95 - Nuggets seven-game win streak is snapped. So what did Marco Belinelli do to get in Nellie’s doghouse? The rookie hasn’t played in over a week, and Nellie’s hinting at the D-League. This kid was a European scoring machine. Surprised a team that can’t score or shoot (Clippers, 76ers) hasn’t tried to buy low yet.

San Antonio 111, Memphis 87 - In some of these blowouts, we like to look at a box score and click on names that aren’t familiar. Did anyone know Keith Langford (Kansas!) was in the league? Or Darius “Free Throws” Washington? Marcus “Ballhog” Williams? We’re nerdy college hoops fans and it’s strange to see college stars (well, Langford wasn’t really a star) languish.
