The Ohio State DVD – Part of it at least
College Football January 6th. 2008, 12:17pm
Apparently this video is called “Take Talk Home” because Jim “The Master Motivator” Tressel sent it home with his players over Christmas.
Personally, I think this was kind of a dick-move. I know when I go home for Christmas I don’t want a DVD sent to my house that goes on and on about how bad I am at college football. Look, I know I don’t have a chance against an SEC team. I don’t need audio and video to drive the point home. A video like that can only serve to dilute my Keystone Light with tears.
Enough about my shortcomings – sit back, relax and enjoy the hating on Ohio State during the first 3 minutes of Take Talk Home after the jump.
Of course, if a full copy of this video comes in, it’s going up and we’ll pretend that this whole post never happened. Got it? Good.
All sorts of hat tips in order: Commenter bigcoorslight bigtuna for the original link to Eleven Warriors (an Ohio State blog) that found the video on YouTube
Again -apologies for this post. It’s been giving me problems for an hour and a half. So don’t be confused by its disappearances – no wonder no one likes Ohio State.

Know how many times Ohio State has beaten the SEC? Zero.
It’s sad that so many voters continue to vote for the big ten (lower-case intended) like its still an elite conference. What’s worse is that the BCS continues to treat the big ten like an elite conference. Perhaps a massacre at the hands of LSU will change their minds.

Wait is it humanly possible to actually enjoy the likes of Bob Ryan, Woody Paige, Jay Marriotti AND the Schrutebag talk about anything?
January 6th, 2008 at 12:41 pm
Yeah. ESPN hates Ohio State so much more than they hate LSU. Have they actually seen the coverage.
Face it, ESPN hates everybody except USC, Michigan, and Notre Dame. Or to put it another way: ESPN hates everybody who isn’t popular to a large segment of the public.

Schrutebag in excellent form at the end of that video. Florida will CRUSH Michigan.
January 6th, 2008 at 1:00 pm
What about his form with the Illinois-SC game?

@lohur so the Big10 isnt an elite conference because ohio state lost to florida last year??? give me a break, and what does does games played 15+ yrs ago have anything to do with this team…
i guess a more telling stat is Ohio State all time is 1-0-1 against LSU.
but that doesnt mean shit and neither does 0-8
the fact is ohio state has a great BCS record(only 1 loss) and not to mention has had great success under tressel, and will continue to have success. thats why people hate ohio state, because they have a good program that wins, with a great coach.

CRM – great job this weekend! I read TBL regularly on the weekends, so I am glad you’re aboard. I promise to go a little easier on you for the message threads =).

The Big Ten isn’t an elite conference because it is the Big 1 plus 10.

Thank you Dornoch!

Oklahoma has lost 4 straight bcs games….must not be an elite team

mmonast – Please understand, I don’t dislike only Ohio State, I dislike the entire big ten. My future condolences on Ohio State’s loss against LSU.

Usually alumni tow the company line and at least give their guys a shot. Don’t tell that to Trev Alberts and Robert Smith. Don’t blame Trev though. He’s still recovering from getting mafia clipped by Holtz a few years ago for the college gamenight spot.

Man, you pricks are going to make this Michigan fan defend OSU, which is not in my DNA. Michigan being faster and more athletic than Florida should put the speed factor on the back burner. OSU should be just as fast os LSU on the whole, although I think LSU may have the fastest player or two in the game. OSU’s record all-time against the SEC isn’t really that imporant, although one could argue last years game is relevent. OSU even shows its relevence by including the Gator celebration at the beginning of the video.
Big Ten is an elite conference, even though it isn’t at the level of the Pac-10 or SEC in the last couple years. That could change from season to season.
January 6th, 2008 at 1:49 pm
Probably not. Bob Stoops isn’t as great of a coach as we think. He’s just a great recruiter (sound fimilar?). The Big 12 isn’t as great as most people think it is. But then again, I think you can say that about most conferences.

Cuz-new post please, something so we can talk about the giants/bucs, or better yet, American Gladiators.
The Big Ten conversation is so old.

We’re up and running…lunch took longer than expected.

@Chelsea Chris
You beat me to it. I was going to comment the same thing.
@Big Ten haters
The Michigan game means nothing all of a sudden? Weird…
Way to ruin the best video ever with the whole big ten sucks argument, which is beyond bullshit. The Big Ten is certainly not the most deep conference, but to say it is not elite is ignorant. Has anyone considered that OSU just isn’t that good in big games (or at least this class)? That Miami game was a joke by the way. That was a gift, and a horrid call.

@lohur
So you want a USC vs. SEC Champ National Championship game every year? SOunds like fun for everybody!! I am sure ESPN would agree with you. That is a garbage argument.
January 6th, 2008 at 2:24 pm
@Magglio Merkin – I would hate for USC vs. SEC Champ every year. I just want to honest to goodness good football games.
By the way, we’ve moved on to the next post with a wonderful Bucs cheerleader from USF. Now that team should play in the BCS Champsionship game every year!

Eddie George is doing all he can not to face the truth.

Better late then never…wanted to throw in my SEC sense.
I’m an Auburn guy. Overall I think the SEC is far better than the Big 10. With that said, I think OSU will beat LSU this year. LSU hasn’t played great since October and OSU’s defense is good enough to keep them in the game. If it’s close, anything can happen…like Matt Flynn throwing a pick 6 or two.
