Trainers find load of douche in Phillip Rivers’ uniform
NFL January 13th. 2008, 4:38pm
It wasn’t a surprise that it was a 4 point game, but it was surprising that the Chargers won with no Philip Rivers and no LaDainian Tomlinson to close it out. Next week will be interesting, with Norvelous against Belichick. The Chargers will no doubt keep Week 2 of the regular season fresh in their mind. Philip Rivers needs to shut his fat mouth. If any other quarterback in the playoffs pulled that stunt, they’d be endlessly scrutinized. Since it was Rivers, it wasn’t unexpected.
Michael Turner making millions of dollars by the second
With no LT, Turner churned out 71 yards on 17 carries. Just like last year, he’ll be a free agent heading into the offseason – only this time he’ll be unrestricted. Turner’s tiny teammate Darren Sproles once again burned the Colts, this time in the screen game. Â Good to see the father-son relationship of Norv and Michael pay dividends. Â Great story.Â
LT’s knee bruise… what?
As someone who rags on Shuan Alexander for not running hard unless he’s in the red zone, something needs to be said for LaDainian Tomlinson sitting on the sidelines. We can at least question whether LT could have played since a “knee bruise” sounds um, you know. Â ÂÂ
Pass the Oreos
The Colts dropped back to pass 48 times and ran it just 18. Even if the yards aren’t there, you can still run “effectively” (see: Chargers last week against Tennessee).
And away we go in Game 4
The Cowboys will win by double digits. See you at halftime.
[And can someone please find Jay Glazer's makeup artist and tell him/her to ease up on the brown cake-paste?]

Rivers is a douchebag, but he had a good game until the injury.
I’m rooting for the Giants pretty much my default…I cannot stand this ‘Tony Romo is the new Brett Favre’ hype.

Could Eli be playing one week longer than his brother?

What’s the line for number of times we hear the words “Jessica Simpson”?

Last week you were calling Rivers a douche AND calling him a fraud. This week you’re just calling him a douche. How’s that crow taste?
January 13th, 2008 at 4:49 pm
Um, I wasn’t posting last week.

I was talking about TBL.

All right! Eli hasn’t totally fucked up yet!

Well, Rivers IS a douche-fag. but that has nothing to do with his playing abilities.
January 13th, 2008 at 5:14 pm
let’s see if he and ldt run their mouth when they get hosed by the pats next week
January 13th, 2008 at 5:21 pm
Yes, Gonzo. I concur. The douche classification is a great one because it’s more fan-oriented. Patrick Crayton is also a douche, though it says nothing about his skills has a player.

Keep talking shit about the chargers they play better when no one thinks they have a chance. They overcame injuries, refs, and the indy fans. Next week I hope they are able to keep the game close. I hope Rivers, LT, Neal, Gates, and Castillo can play otherwise it will be a long game.
January 13th, 2008 at 5:21 pm
Seeing how Rivers wasn’t even on the field for the game winning drive, I think there is still some fraud in there.
And nice work by him screaming at the fans at the end of the game. Stay Classy, San Diego!!!
January 13th, 2008 at 5:23 pm
wow lost a lot of credibility questioning LT’s heart.
January 13th, 2008 at 5:26 pm
the chargers are the team that runs their mouth…keep coming up with ways of how the super chargers will beat the pats- either way it won’t matter

It’s the playoffs, though. Lose and you’re out. It looked weird that he was standing up with no ice and no treatment going to his problem area. Not saying it means anything, just bringing it up for discussion.

Caputo. I enjoy your enthusiasm for your favorite team. But look it at realistically. They have lost home playoff games they should have won over the past few years. Don’t tell me “they play better when no one thinks they have a chance”. how about this “They don’t play well when they SHOULD win”

can anyone tell me what “stunt” the author of this post is talking about, in regards to rivers? was it something specific, or just general douchebaggery?
January 13th, 2008 at 6:26 pm
I think the stunt is him talking shit when they played the Pats week 2.
January 13th, 2008 at 6:29 pm
The stunt I was referring to was him yelling and jawing with the Colts fans after the game. Instead of walking away to the locker room or shaking hands with the other players, he’s yelling at Colts fans. It’s just not necessary. But yeah, it was just general douchebaggery in the big picture.

I can’t wait for KSK’s interpretation tomorrow on the quest of Phillip D-Fag Rivers
January 13th, 2008 at 7:31 pm
Indy fans were screaming at him the entire game. Even when he was headed to the locker room. I don’t see a problem with Rivers yelling back at the fans. It’s all in fun. I’ve been to many charger games were other teams players yell at charger fans after they make a good play. I think it’s part of every sport. When I play I like to have fun and talk to the opposing team. Sometimes I get beat and have to shut up buts it’s just a game. I think Rivers is just having fun with the fans he isn’t flipping them off or yelling racial slurs so I see no problem with Rivers “douchbaggery.”

@ caputo. they are fans, thats what they do. he should shut his damn mouth and worry about the game. If I were a chargers fan Id still be pissed they let Brees go
January 13th, 2008 at 9:48 pm
When Rivers wins the Super Bowl, he can talk all the shit he wants. Until then, keep your trap shut, especially after the pourus season he had. Yes they won the division, but that was in spite of what Rivers did.

caputo87sd…with gems like that shouldn’t you be posting exclusively on tWWL’s comment boards? Good Gawd.
January 13th, 2008 at 10:37 pm
WTF are you talking about Wildcat
January 13th, 2008 at 10:54 pm
Maybe that you’re a homer. And remember, there’s being a homer and then there’s just being an idiot.
January 13th, 2008 at 10:59 pm
Sproles ought to be required to have one of the orange bicycle flags attached to his helmet. The way he came shooting out of the pack you could tell the Colts had no idea where he was or even who had the ball. He was 10 yards clear before they knew WTF happened.
January 14th, 2008 at 6:17 am
not sure if anyone else noticed this, but when rivers came back from the locker room, LT seemed like he asked him if he was ok, and Rivers nodded like nothing was wrong with him, and LT just got a disgusted look on his face like, wtf is this bullshit, not really towards Rivers tho, just in general. thinking back to that sequence, i bet LT and Rivers were held out as a precautionary by the pussies on the medical staff.

I guess Brett Favre will never be a star in this league pulling stunts like this.
But it’s OK, because it’s just Brett being Brett.
He’s a wonderful role model and a winner. No one would ever say that they don’t want to see a recovering addict making gestures in an NFL game that the non-WWF viewing public would consider damn-near obscene.
It’s news when some one DOESN’T talk trash in this league any more.
