If This Injury Existed, It Would be Nasty
Media Gossip/Musings, Video January 14th. 2008, 11:27amThis is about a month old, but we just heard it on Howard Stern and naturally, we had to run a You Tube search on Bryant Gumbel. After laughing at this one, please do laugh at Gumbel calling Tony Romo “Rick Romo,” and Gumbel saying the Cowboys date back to the 1600s, you know, before the United States we even had a President. If someone alerts Richard Sandomir to this, it could get ugly.
How old was it? So old, that Mister Irrelevant had it a month ago.

And if you would be listening to Steve Czaban like I’ve been imploring, you would be hearing Gumbel’s greatness on a weekly basis. There are so, so many more where this came from.

CC - Is he on sirius?

Czaban is on Fox Sports Radio. And, I can vouch for his show. Funny, funny stuff…

best sports radio show anywhere is the dan le batard show. no1 makes you think more than that guy…anyone who lives in south florida can vouch for him. i have sirius but the SPORTS talk is terrible on there. its just cliche face radio all day. howard stern carries that company on his back..

i listened to him while in college down in dc…his show is good, i’d recommend it.

Well if Fox Sports isn’t on Sirius, I’m SOL. I do, however, get to listen to the radio briefly in the car, but I’ve never in the car.

Czabe is on XM…so you’re out of luck until that alleged merger happens.
Love the Czabe show b/c they don’t spend three hours talking about the overblown “topic of the day.” Something ESPN radio thrives on. I can’t believe that people still voluntarily tune in to Mike and Mike or Mike Tirico for boring interviews and steroid talk. Can I get a Big
Lead “YAWNNN?”
Do sports talk listeners really enjoy listening to interviews with “Random QB who had a good football game?” Are these interviews EVER entertaining? Do you ever learn something? And why does Mike Tirico/Greenberg have to conclude said interview with “Great job…great interview…that guys great…that’s why we have him on…terrific job…nobody knows more..”

agree completley CC.. couldnt pay me to listen to espn radio.. its the same boring interview over and over again. when they have on peter king or ron jaworski its not bad but other than that the entire station is terrible..

ESPN Radio was gold when they had Kornheiser followed by Dan Patrick. That was a solid five (six, if you were in the right market) hours of entertainment.

Gumbel said “60 to 63″, nothing about the 1600’s. He’s a lousy announcer, but give him a break. The rampant YouTube gotcha game over anything anyone might-have said has gotten old.

Ah. Fair point, Dave, didn’t catch that. I actually haven’t killed Gumbel this year, thought he was OK. Dierdorf was awful Saturday.

I’m always fascinated to hear the opinions of broadcasters. I actually think Dierdorf is one of the top analysts in football. He’s candid, he’ll put a guy through the wringer if need be. And he’s serious when he needs to be. He’s also very good at talking about blocking, and he does so with ease BEFORE he ever sees a replay. Are you getting that type of analysis from Steve Tasker? Beasley Reese? Soloman Wilcots?

And the whole “Sunt” video was taken out of context. Just kidding. That was priceless.
