Ashlee Simpson has her moments, but in this bikini? Eh … we’ll get to the weekend primary results shortly, but Newsweek reporting rather interesting – Dems want Bill Clinton to shut the funk up … A-Rod, probably the most tanned baseball player in the majors … yes, when the stock market plunges for three straight weeks to open the year, we’d agree with the word “panic” … college pranks that backfire equal comedy … Eddie Murphy totally called the Giants victory – in Coming to America! …
Dane Cook was on the sidelines for the Patriots-Chargers game, and you know that’s going to chap the ass of a certain ESPN writer. (Inside Track)

For weeks now, you’ve been spouting gloom and doom about a recession. I, for one, hope the market underperforms for a while.
The typical reader on this site is most likely in their 20s and 30s. If the market trades flat for a number of years, every dollar that we put aside in 401ks, IRAs, etc will be worth that much more when the market eventually goes up. Especially in a qualified account that you can’t touch for at least 20 or 30 years, a recession is a great thing.

412 – i really didn’t think anyone else was going to be working today. Are people in the office?
St. Bear – no arguments there. The next two years will be a great time to pump money into the stock market. Buy low and it’ll be back in a few years.

Wipe the sleep out of your eyes. It appears you did not have them open when you posted that round up pic. There is nothing hot about it.

TBL – I think there are a good many people out here. A lot of companies (most?) don’t give MLK day to their employees.
So, please keep the snark and SFW pr0n coming.

And, by the way, I’ve always been a fan of Ashlee. The picture catches her in a slightly unflattering pose, but that’s still a decent body (somewhat more natural than Jessica’s). As Czabe would say, “Yeah, I’d hit that”.

412/TBL – At work all day.
St. Bear – I agree, but I’m not worried about me. My dad is looking to retire in a year or 2 and I’m more concerned about the effects of the recession on his portfolio/planning.

I hope everyone reallocated their TSPs/401(k)s a couple months ago.

Looks like CoRM had to rest up from his weekend stint…he is usually lurking by now.

Anyone with parents who still have portfolios that are heavy in equities should probably have them dial that back. A lot.

No day off for me but I get plenty of emails reminding me that I don’t get this day off but that I can request vacation time for it.
Uhhhhhh no thanks.

Why does the Rich Rodriguez story surprise anyone? There are a lot of people who don’t consider Colin Powell and Condi Rice minorities, so why not a coach who doesn’t belong to the coaches’ group?
And I wonder if the next Bill Simmons story will discuss how the last two teams with the best chances to beat the Patriots got knocked off right before they had a chance to play them. Maybe some of you think the Giants have a better chance of beating them than the Packers and a Brett Favre suddenly catching fire, but I don’t. Sometimes luck dictates greatness too.

Yep, I’m beginning to think the usual gang of idiots is at home today.

@412: The financial company I work for designated this day as a “floating” holiday. So I am at work, which means I will be here at TBL all day.

Not all of us.
January 21st, 2008 at 11:08 am
Today is a holiday?
Anyway, you missed the Rockets power dancers wearing catholic school girl outfits a week ago. Oh. My. God!
January 21st, 2008 at 11:14 am
I want to see a picture of that.

Does anyone really think that Dan Patrick just “wanted a change” or that he was shown the door after he didn’t get the raise he wanted?
