Ballin’: A Career High
NBA February 9th. 2008, 11:52am
Denver 111, Washington 100: Carmelo Anthony has a new career high – 49 points. He shot 19 of 25 from the field and made all 3 of his three’s. Allen Iverson added 18 points and 11 assists.
Los Angels 117, Orlando 113: The Magic scored 44 in the FIRST QUARTER! (and lost) Ignoring that, this must have been what the Lakers’ were looking for when they traded for Pau Gasol. He had 30 and 9 while Kobe and his injured pinky poured in 36 and grabbed 10 boards.
Los Angles Clippers 102, Toronto 98: Corey Maggette’s 35 and 9 beat out Chris Bosh’s 29 and 12 for coolest stat line. Jose Calderon added 11 points and 14 assists for the team with the smaller number of points.
New Jersey 104, Charlotte 90: Jason Kidd wants to be traded so badly that he went out and got a triple-double. Not to be outdone by Kidd’s 13 assists, the Bobcats had 14 of their own.
San Antonio 99, New York 93: Tim Duncan had 21 and 14. Manu Ginobili had 20 points, 9 assists, 7 rebounds and 5 steals. Jamal Crawford had 24. Did I mention Stephon Marbury is out for the rest of the season? Well, now you know. I guess you can stop printing those “19-63” books.
Cleveland 100, Atlanta 95: 26, 11 and 7 for King James. Joe Johnson scored 23 for the non-victors.
Detroit 91, Portland 82: Brandon Roy missed the game due to a death in his family and the Blazers couldn’t overcome his absence. Chauncey Billups
led the Pistons with 17.
Boston 88, Minnesota 86: KG missed out on his return to Minnesota, but Leon Powe made sure Garnett didn’t miss a win. Powe scored 16 points off the bench including the game-winning put back as the buzzer sounded.
Dallas 92, Memphis 81: Dirk scored 21. Yippee!
Phoenix 103, Seattle 99: Amare Stoudemire scored 33 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Chris Wilcox had 22 and 15 for the Sonics. Kevin Durant had 9 points on 2-12 shooting.
Sacramento 117, Utah 104: Kevin Martin scored 27 points and hit 4-threes for the Kings. Carlos Boozer had 23 and 12.

The Wolves should have won this game. They had a couple chances to put the Celtics away but didn’t.

Are the Wizards really that lost without Caron Butler?

Tell me that’s not Michael Jordan on Carmelo’s shirt. Would Jordan slap and dude and then run away like a baby?

the head on his shirt is as big as the upper torso of that manatee next to him.
that’s just a creepy pic all around. i have no idea why.

That’s Melo’s girl, LaLa (From the MTV)

I actually thought that was Stephon Marbury on this shirt for a second, then I thought better of it.
Plus I thought the girl was Nicole Richie. Looking closer I can see that it isn’t.

Judging by the comments section…it appears NOBODY reads blogs on the weekends. Kobe Bryant and Pau are playing pretty damn well so far. Wow. I’m definitely not putting anything past the Lakers at this point.
