About the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue

It’s out. And some of you have no doubt proclaimed your love for a fresh crop of models who have stolen your heart (just in time for Valentine’s Day!). Just some brief ruminations, before we open the floor to you. Sorry, we’re not going to go nuts with a gallery and post 900 photos here in an effort to whore for page views – but we must admit to seriously thinking about it. Seventeen photos of Anne V crossed our mind many, many times.
- Danica Patrick is certainly a strange athlete choice, and we have a few tennis suggestions for next year
- we enjoyed the players’ wives section, and hope they beef it up next year (but again – Carmella DeCesare is much hotter than that)
- can we all agree best ‘Newcomer’ is Jessica Gomes?
- Bar Rafaeli is probably in the top 5 – and we think she grabs the cover next year – but these unairbrushed photos are way hotter
- a big ‘eh’ on the cheerleader section
- gun-to-head, we’ve got to go with Anne V as tops

Agree the cheerleader section is meh

I’m sorry, the swimsuit issue holds no appeal to me, considering I have access to internet porn. Are the ladies super hot? yes. Are they riding a sybian or taking a face full of jizz? no, they aren’t. so i’ll pass.

My favorite part of Swimsuit Issue season is the angry letters telling SI they’ve lost a reader because they objectify women. SI’s been doing this for over 40 years, and people are just now figuring this out?

I wouldn’t go so far as to say Danica is unattractive. She just has as much business being in the SI swimsuit issue as Doug Mientkiewicz would appearing at the home run hitters contest.

Ok I get the body painting thing…at what point does it cross into porn? I’m not complaining but…FCC bust the chops of people using certain words but in a couple of those picks you could hang your keys on her nipples. I’m just saying it is BS that SI can get away with this but someone slips and says one bad word they get drilled 50K.

@e man– the difference (not that I disagree with you) is that TV is using public airwaves and falls under FCC regulations, while SI is a private enterprise that pays its own way.

Yes, they’re hot. But I still miss the days when women became famous because they were SI swimsuit models. Now women become famous, date famous people, or whatever, and then they become SI swimsuit models. Oh well.

Bar Refaeli wins. Period. (Miller and Sarahyba close the top 3, but don’t sleep on Irina Shayk, the Jags cheerleader, or, despite her male face, Melissa Baker.)
Danica is, to quote Eminem, “cold product,” and is a square peg in some very round holes here.
But every picture is hot. That’s predictable.

The cheerleader section was so disappointing. It didn’t even compare to what Maxim does with NFL cheerleaders. Just put Cooley’s girl in there and be done with it.

Ms. Miller and Ms. Rafaeli destroy Anne V. Ms. Miller’s husband gives us all hope. Always hold out for a first rounder guys they are out there. I usually think that cheerleaders look better than models because they are more fit than skinny but I was not overwhelmed. As for next year’s athelete how about Ianovic (the girl who lost to Sharapova in Australia)

Kind of funny how T.O. made a big production of Jeff Garcia being gay when Garcia is married to a Playboy chick and I’ve never seen or heard about T.O. with a women. If it smells like a rat…
Good call by Nick on LaLa’s bug-eyed similarity to Nicole Ritchie. I’d hit it of course, but for a big star like ‘Melo you’d think she would just be some weeknight random tail instead of his fiancee.

I understand that Danica has the personality of a wet fish… but stating that she is NOT hot is just a blatant falsehood… She is JV squad in comparison to the most beautiful models in the world, but that is a solid photo shoot of a really hot chick in a 2 piece…
