Shaq Is Ready to Go Ostertag on Bill Walton
NBA, Video February 15th. 2008, 5:02pmTaking you into the NBA All-Star weekend – where Patrick Imig from Joe Sports Fan will enthrall you with witty tales from New Orleans, the Daytona 500 and perhaps even a boxing recap – is this week-old video of Shaq absolutely going off on Bill Walton. It’s fantastic. “If I’m faking an injury, his whole injury-plagued career is a fake. You remember what happened to Greg Ostertag? You were there right? Ok, enough said.” Easily one of the 10 coolest athletes of the modern era.

Walton makes a good point.
Besides, Duncan > Shaq in the all-time debate anyway.

Easily one of the 10 overrated and douchiest athletes of the modern era.
Fixed

Wow. Someone has been drinking their haterade.
February 15th, 2008 at 5:14 pm
I will gladly drink haterade if I can hate on that big piece of crap.
Shaq = 1,000,000 courics
He is not funny, he is unintelligible, he sucks at basketball, he only plays when he is winning, he’s fat, he thinks he is great because he had a step dad in the military, did I mention he’s not funny.
February 15th, 2008 at 5:15 pm
He’s a little funny.
February 15th, 2008 at 5:16 pm
He says some funny stuff from time to time.

In a modern era of technology, the slap heard round the world isn’t on some video site? Lame.

@cbh49er: How much is 1 couric worth? 1/10 of a Brokaw? 2/3 of a Brian Williams?
February 15th, 2008 at 5:21 pm
Hef, I would have to defer to Trey Parker and Matt Stone on that one.
February 15th, 2008 at 5:22 pm
I like Shaq. I liked him more when he was really good, but hey.
February 15th, 2008 at 5:43 pm
I assumed you meant Ostertag is one of the 10 coolest athletes of the modern era.
February 15th, 2008 at 5:44 pm
A couric is a unit of measure when you weigh turds.
February 15th, 2008 at 5:46 pm
C’mon platts, it’s friday. You can do better than that.
February 15th, 2008 at 5:46 pm
Most dominant, one of them
Top 10 greatest players this era, no.
Funny – he can be.
February 15th, 2008 at 5:49 pm

February 15th, 2008 at 5:50 pm
Shaq is a little funny at times… but he’s a 35 year old man who acts like he’s 15. Fuck Shaq.
February 15th, 2008 at 5:57 pm
shaq is absolutley top 5 all time and best since jordan IMO.. every1 that plays with him not only has career years but gets to be the nest jordan (hardaway, kobe, wade) and not coincidently, none of those guys won shit since shaq left.. kobe hasnt been out of the 1st round since shaq left.. wade healthy with marion and the heat cant win to save there life.. he makes everything easier.. hes great

Yes his game has slipped big the past couple of years but you guys are crazy if you don’t think he’s not one of the “greatest” in NBA history.
Dude put three different organizations into the NBA finals 6 times, won four, named finals MVP 3 times, etc, etc. In his prime I don’t think there was a better center in the modern era and that includes Dream, Ewing, Duncan, etc.

I loved Shaq when he was at LSU and Orlando. Then he threw a fit because they were gonna pay Penny more money than him, so he left. Ever since then I’ve hated him. He’s like a spoiled kid. He can be funny, but he somehow thinks that because he’s the most powerfull dunker of all time, that translates into being the best big man ever.
It was sweet when he brought down the rim and backboard, though.
February 15th, 2008 at 6:26 pm
I’d take Duncan over Shaq any day. Not just right now, I’m talking both of them in their prime. Duncan, easily.
February 15th, 2008 at 6:32 pm
Duncan > Shaq for their careers hands down. Nobody has won more games then Duncan since he has been in the league, 2 MVP’s, 3 Finals MVP’s and most dominant def player of his generation.
February 15th, 2008 at 7:44 pm
Shaq at his prime>Duncan…Shaq was an absolute beast that no one in the league could stop. Also, Duncan got to play with David Robinson for the first half of his career, so he didn’t have to take the beatings that Shaq took every day down low on both ends of the court. Granted, we’re comparing possibly the greatest center of all time versus possibly the greatest power forward of all time, but still…Shaq was unstoppable…Duncan wasn’t.

i just heard the knicks are looking to acquire ostertag…
February 16th, 2008 at 1:34 am
True Shaq was a dominant force, but was he dominant because of his skills, or because he’s a freak of nature? He didn’t beat opponents with his skills, he beat them because he was so freaking strong. I’d rather have a guy who can dominate a game in a variety of ways than one who can knock guys over because he’s such a beast. Although it is hard to compare because of the positions they play.

Good morning to you Gonzo.

Mister Andersonnnnnnn, welcome to the party.

shaq in his prime > duncan in his prime
BUT, duncan’s prime has last probably twice as long.
