People will whine about him throwing it through, but, really, he was 12 feet up and had the angle to literally THROW the ball through the hoop, which I think was more impressive than if he had dunked it.
Congrats, Dwight; keep making us three Magic fans proud.

All of Howard’s dunks were sick… but…

Dwight Howard deserved to win, no doubt. But the most underrated dunk of the night was Gerald Green’s Vince Carter impersonation done without shoes on. I thought that was almost as impressive as the “birthday cake.”

people will whine about it BECAUSE IT WASNT A DUNK. the mini hoop and behind the board one were much cooler than that and on those i think he was the best all around, but fuck this one

Did anyone notice Kenny Smith humming the Indiana Jones theme after the dunk instead of the Superman theme.

the best part had to me was when jamario moon put a line of tape about a foot behind the free throw line, then proceeded to jump about 2.5 feet past the tape, and jumped of the wrong foot to dunk. he must think highly of himself.

I really think Howard’s performance – all 3 – might have been the best in dunk contest history. the originality was refreshing

Dunking is for mortals. THROWING IT DOWN IS THE FUTURE!!!!

I’m mad Moon didn’t get in the finals. He hamstrung himself with the stupid line of tape. I wish we had gotten to see all three in the finals. And all Gerald Green does is windmills or variations of them. From his AAU days until now, not much else.

i also thought Gerald Green jumping withouth shoes to do that dunk was very impressive. too bad he did that dunk with shoes on the dunk before. Also he was very creative with the cupcake blowout. But give it up to Dwight howard for bringing the slam dunk contest back. i knew there was going to be at least one comment saying he didnt dunk the ball with the superman dunk, but look at the other dunks. he put on a show
